liamur14 Posted April 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2022 Hello, I am looking at a 24 day cruise but only want to be on it for the 18 days. Can you do this or do you have to book and stay on for whole cruise? Thanks
Rare LHT28 Posted April 1, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2022 Depends on the cruise ports & the cruise line You would probably still pay for the full 24 days though
navybankerteacher Posted April 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2022 There are a couple of possible problems — if the cruise is a closed loop from a US port - you cannot get off at a different US port. Also, there may be a problem with immigration authorities at the port at which you want to disembark. In any case, you should not expect the line to charge you less than the full fare. chengkp75 Posted April 1, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2022 Please provide the itinerary, cruise line, ship, and whether or not the cruise is offered in segments or not.
marco Posted April 1, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2022 You really just need to ask the line. It probably will depend on what line you're on, where you're going, where you intend to get off on day 18, etc etc. I know that on MSC in Europe folks get on and off at various ports. leaveitallbehind Posted April 1, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2022 (edited) 1 hour ago, marco said: I know that on MSC in Europe folks get on and off at various ports. Typically when that occurs it is with an itinerary that has more than one available port of embarkation and disembarkation, and passengers would be scheduling the beginning and end of their cruise at those alternative ports with the full fares in place for that cycle. But they are scheduled ports of embarkation and disembarkation, not random. RCCL has had that with a Rome / Barcelona itinerary. MSC also offers that on some of their Caribbean based itineraries as well. Edited April 1, 2022 by leaveitallbehind
donaldsc Posted April 1, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2022 (edited) You need to ask the cruise line or preferably get a good TA to book the cruise and find out for you. Make sure that you get any response in writing. DON Edited April 1, 2022 by donaldsc
