You are responsible to apply / pay for the travel authorization to Bermuda IF that is still in play in October!!  So you will have to test within the time frame as requested by Bermuda that will not be Royal’s responsibility but never hurt to ask them while onboard but I would bring EMED as a backup in case you still need this travel authorization.  At $40.00 per person per trip… I wonder how long they will keep this up… hmmmm

Talked to a person in Bermuda today and asked how long will they be inforcing the authorisation and she said at least through December.

at 40 dollars a person, that is lots of cash going to Bermuda. She said 5000 people just this coming week(may 12 sailing)

I am going on my first royal cruise on the adventure of the seas on may 26

Welcome … Adventure of the Seas is a great ship to start … it’s middle of the pack, not too small and not too big to explore!  Have a great cruise and enjoy!!!

It’s been 3 years since I’ve been on a cruise (thank you COVID 🙃) and apparently I forgot all things cruise related like how to find excursions!? I used to be so good at this…

Anyways I’ll be sailing on Allure of the Seas (May 22nd - 28th) and I can’t seem to find any excursions worthwhile so I’m looking for a bit of help.

Ports of call are:

Roatan, Honduras : (would love to see some monkeys/sloths and go to a nice beach). Will be cruising with friends who can’t swim but for some reason would like to book the shipwreck snorkel & beach break through Royal!?

Cozumel, Mexico

Costa Maya, Mexico

Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

We took cab to Henry Morgan resort to snorkel from shore to shipwreck but you can pay for boat ride out to wreck too! Fee to use resort

it was worse last year. When i did two Bermuda last year on NCL, the fee was $75 dollars. i am surprised they lowered the fee to only $40 dollars. its a big cash grab for the bermuda government, they know it and will most likely keep it. Everyone from tourist like us to locals hates it

Can’t wait to visit Maho beach 🏖 soon!

Still waiting for test results from cvs to send in, was so quick last time, now not so much.

Driving down to cruise port and sleep 💤 park. And cruise.
A bit of a Quagmire this Bermuda 🇧🇲 testing protocol! Gigideeee!🙏

WOW!  That’s a lot of tourism dollars coming in … before you even get to the island.  They also don’t issue a refund even if you test positive so it’s a win win for them!

That is something I would like to do but not on this trip because this is only for one day but it’s good for a multi day itineraries!  Thank you for sharing that tip!  Very useful!

Wow!!  I didn’t know that they actually adjusted the fee downwards… usually fees goes up! 😂

Wow… make sure you call them to expedite the approval if you are sailing tomorrow once you upload the results!!  You will need that certificate to board!

I am thinking we will wait to complete and pay the $40 TA fee to Bermuda when we have neg results.   Would that work?

That will work… so as soon as you submit the application along with your required documents and payment you will get an application number. Call them with that number and let them know you will be boarding within 2 days (if you are doing the rapid antigen test) and to please check the application to make sure everything looks good and to please approve it.  Because once you get the approval you still have to digitally sign / initial for another document to generate and that’s your certificate you have to print / show.

Also if you are using EMED the result is in a locked format, make sure it is unlocked when you upload it otherwise they can’t open it!

Just started reading the thread.  40 pp to Bermuda even if you don't get off the ship.  It's bad enough with the higher taxes and maybe it could be justified if you're going to be there for 3 days, but for a 1 day stop adding an extra 80 to the kitty is a no go for me.  Did a similar 9 day cruise years ago on the Explorer out of Bayonne.

Since Bermuda will be accustomed to the cash flow, it could be a permanent thing.  Worst thing that could happen is if other ports decide to follow suit.

Hahahah… you appetite will be satisfied!  I think you will also have a new cruise director in June on the Oasis!  I hope you will like the ship and enjoy the cruise!

Yeah … I didn’t know about the charge until it was too late 😆 it’s definitely not worth it if you don’t want to get off the ship we will be there from 8AM to 4 PM for one day so you are limited as to what you can do.  Either way it is what it is and there is nothing you can do about it since it’s not a decision made by Royal.

I hope that other places don’t catch this money grabbing scheme… but I do have to say that the customer service number to call is well staffed and usually it’s a 45 min wait if your spot is in the 40s (they tell you where you are on hold)

Day 1

Nope… they did not learn from the chaos … they are just directing people to this giant line that’s all the way back to the parking garage and then this poor man comes around telling people this is the line for 11AM… can they send the pros from FL up along with their line making skills PLEASE to clear this chaos 😆

Looking forward to your review as we board on May 21 on a sailing to Bermuda.  I assume you have your Bermuda Travel Authorization all taken care of?  How long after uploading the negative test results did it take to get the final approval?

Fun… I have friends going on that cruise as well…

I called them to push the approval through after I uploaded the result!  I was not going to leave that to chance and I did not want to deal with that the morning that I board… I need that time to sip coffee 😆
