Does anyone know if Emerald Princess has arranged SHUTTLE service from Greenoch into Glasgow.  If not, is there a commercial shuttle service?   I know there is a Glashow on your own tour.
thanks

Glasgow on your own is the shuttle.

we hired a taxi driver to take us on a private tour for the day. Worth it.

No there is no shuttle from Greenock into Glasgow you either book an excursion through Princess or go on the train

Trains are available from Greenock station into Glasgow Central station. Check the timetables on ScotRail but at present there are vastly reduced services available and a major strike looming in the near future so be careful about getting back from the city if you do go by train. https://www.scotrail.co.uk/train-times/greenock-west-to-glasgow-central

Also be aware that the journey from Greenock and back is over one of the busiest bridges in Scotland so again leave sufficient time to get back to the ship if you DIY by local bus or taxi (there is another way which a taxi could divert to). I have attacked the link to the main bus operator but there are lots of private companies as well which you can Google. The main bus station is in the middle of the city (at the back of the large John Lewis department store in Buchanan Galleries shopping).

Once you get there there is lots to see and do. All the municipal museums are free entry, there is the style mile for shopping, lots of excellent bars and restaurants etc. The locals are extremely friendly, if a little incomprehensible, just ask them to talk more slowly and they will be happy to help you.

If it’s not too pricy I would be tempted to take the ships Glasgow on your own shuttle to ensure you get back. I can’t over emphasise how buy the Kingston Bridge gets in the rush hour.
