Pinnacle Suite Westerdam or Eurodam. which ship is the more "updated" suite?

Hello fellow HAL Pals 🙂    ok so after a long vacation pause with all the covid shenanigans, I have been squirreling away for the past 3 years enough to surprise my wife with a once in a lifetime Alaska cruise in 2023 in a Pinnacle Suite. Splurging on this one since I want her to feel like royalty more then I can give and she so deserves putting up with me for so long and working so tirelessly helping others to see better. She is perfectly content to stay most of the time in the cabin/balcony and read and play candy crush (addiction that should be addressed later since she told me she is on level 6045....she declined to let me guess how much time that translates into playtime lol)  and I think the Pinnacle suite will be a great experience for her/us. So I humbly ask for any that have seen or stayed in either one, which seemed more "light" and comfy and doesn't feel too old?  all the pics and vids I could find seem to be dated and everything seems so dark. It almost appears a Neptune is more updated then the top tier suite.

Any pictures or stories of experience in either the Westerdam or Eurodam versions are greatly appreciated. Thanks all !!

I will be sailing in a Pinnacle on the Eurodam in a little under two weeks.  1st time in the Pinnacle, but have done a neptune several times. Will gladly provide feedback once on board.

Brent is your man! Meanwhile, some facts are:

Eurodam, Built 2008, last drydock Mar 2021
Westerdam, Built 2004, last drydock Jan 2020

I would go with the Eurodam for the total package (although I personally love the Vista class ships, of which Westerdam is one) -- If you book "Have-It-All" promo, you get dinner in all three restaurants including the Tamarind (Asian fusion) that Westerdam does not have.

Neptune would really be my choice for this itinerary which is port-intensive. You’ll want to be out and about so all the extra space (DR, etc.)would be wasted. Neptunes are very comfy for that…

Have to disagree - sipping champagne in your hot tub on your balcony while you cruise by a glacier is an unforgetable experience - can't do that in a Neptune. Made use of every square inch, including the microwave and the much bigger refrigerator.

Absolutely agree the Neptunes are very nice, but Twodjs made an exact point I was looking forward to sharing exactly that experience, by all means keep the advice coming, I greatly appreciate it and again, if anyone has any RECENT photos of the pinnacle suite in either the Westerdam or Eurodam, please share and thanks again to those that replied 🙂

Glad we're on the same page. I'd lean toward Eurodam, because of the additional options on the ship. Sorry we didn't do interior pictures. I looked at Halfacts and unfortunately most pictures are way underexposed because they left the windows open. It is NOT that dark in the suite. And there are about a bazillion light controls throughout (slight exaggeration 😁)

If you look on halfacts.com, there are pics of both ship's Pinnacle Suites.

yup did that, the pics there look like from 20 years ago. One of the reasons I was asking in the first place is that Westerdam had some Suite upgrades done, like new deco and carpets and stuff and was curious if pinnacle was included in that. Going strictly by pics I have found thus far, lets just say if they didnt change anything...it just seems quite tired and dated.  Was hoping now it was more like the "refreshed" look of the Neptunes that I've seen recent pics of. Thanks for the pic finding tip just the same 🙂

The Pinnacle Suite is not glitzy and flashy. It is very nice in a classy, understated, elegant,  subtle way, with nice artwork and other accompaniments. Nice furniture,  lots of space. Designed for entertaining. The "flashiest " thing is probably the multitude of lighting options,  which take a degree in electronic engineering to figure out.

And the gold-plated fixtures in the bathroom...it has been a while since we were in the PS on the Eurodam, but I believe both ships will still have it.

Seriously though, you will be thrilled with the Pinnacle Suite on any HAL ship...they are amazing and better than any hotel room we have stayed in, and some aspects of them are even nicer than our own home.  The whirlpool tub on the balcony is, by far, the main reason we stay in the PS rather than a NS.  There is nothing better than watching the sail-away from port while hanging out in the tub while sipping a drink.

I found a Youtube of the Eurodam Pinnacle from 2 years ago from Harr travel. Good video tour. They noted the USB ports around the suite, so there probably hasn't been an upgrade since. The newest ships in the Pinnacle class do have a different color pallet and wood tones, so I understand what you are looking for.

I know that the Zuiderdam PS has been remodeled (no more gold bath fixtures and no Zeus filled tub….a much cleaner modern look), but I don’t believe the other vista or signature class ships have received those upgrades yet.  Either way, you will love the PS.  Our very first cruise was in starboard side PS on the Eurodam in its first year of service.  Spoiled us forever!
