We'll be there in a few weeks.
Homosassa Posted August 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Just an FYI that may or may not be true for your cruise: I was on the Celebrity Millennium a few weeks ago and we stopped at Icy Strait. The Sky Glider Pass was offered as an excursion through the excursion desk. It was the same price on the ship as at the desk on shore. Same thing was true of the zip line tickets and other excursions.
tetleytea Posted August 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2022 When I was at the Adventure Center, ziplines were all sold out. Suggest getting your tickets ahead of time, if that's what you want to do. Fortunately for me, it wasn't.
Schlepporello Posted August 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Ok, now I'm confused. What is the difference between the zip line and the sky rider?
SightCRR Posted August 4, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Icy Strait Point - Skyglider Gondola _ All the way to the top - YouTube I think there are 3 gongolas with a free short one. Lots of youtubes on the zip line. TheSnowCloud Juneau area Webcams scroll down on the web cams and check timelapse if in the fog to check the views. sightcrr.
Dancing Shoes Posted August 6, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2022 For our upcoming stop, Celebrity had a sale on the Gondola! Look at your ship's excursion page. You get unlimited rides on the Gondola with purchase. I read you can see Glacier Bay.
tetleytea Posted August 6, 2022 #9 Share Posted August 6, 2022 The "unlimited rides" I didn't think was of much value. There wasn't that much up top, unless you were ziplining/skyrider (same thing there). Neither of us had any desire to do it again after we did it once. We wouldn't have paid $50 to do it once, either.
Schlepporello Posted August 6, 2022 #10 Share Posted August 6, 2022 I think when we last visited, it was under construction. My DW swears we rode it, however I don't remember it and my mother who was with us says we didnt.
DLASflyer Posted August 8, 2022 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2022 No need to book the SkyGlider in advance. The gondolas go around and around all day long so there’s no limit on capacity. Zip Line is a different story.
captainmayi Posted August 8, 2022 #12 Share Posted August 8, 2022 I was just there! There is the free green gondola that takes you to the little shopping area, and there is the paid red gondola that takes you WAY up. We booked this through carnival and did a short excursion once up top.

Dancing Shoes Posted August 8, 2022 #15 Share Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Got it. I have OBC to use, that is why I purchased it for a reduced price. I thought it did seem pricey. Probably cost a lot to build. Just the logistics of getting materials there. Edited August 8, 2022 by Dancing Shoes
