Are there any inside locations where you can sit and watch the ocean other than restaurant venues?  I loved the older Princess ships that had comfortable chairs near windows.

Yes there’s a few spots with nice chairs and couch.

I think get8way2go and others, including myself, would be interested to know where.

Princess figured out that if you are circling the Promenade, sitting in Skywalker's on Grand Class reading and watching the sea, or managed to find the Wakeview bar on Diamond or Sapphire, or sitting quietly enjoying the view or the sea from the buffet on the Coral Class, you are not spending money. These are gone from the Royal class. As Princess moves to ever larger ships, would be good to know for those of us who enjoy that. Thanks in advance!

It's not completely indoors, but most of the main pool area on the Lido deck is covered by the Sun Deck above it, and there's plenty of windows to go around up there.  That's usually where we are hanging out while the ship is at sea.  It's usually not hard to find a lounger and move it over to face the windows.

To be honest, there are very few climate controlled areas on the Royal Class to observe the scenery from.  There are a few spots on the lower decks, but certainly fewer than the grand class ships.  On upper decks, the only real spot is the buffet on all ships except the Majestic which has the Hollywood pool area and conservatory.  If the weather isn't nice in Alaska, your choices for scenery viewing without bundling or wearing a rain jacket is pretty poor on a Royal Class ship.  If visiting a place with scenery and potentially iffy weather, best to not choose a Royal Class ship.  When we sail to Alaska now its almost only on HAL because there are many more options to see the scenery on all their ships.
