Oceania transfers to/from Venice to Trieste

We are booked on the Vista in May 2023 which originally scheduled embarkation in Venice, however now switched to Trieste.
How has Oceania handled the transfer from Venice to Trieste? Do we all meet at Marco Polo airport and then be shuttled to Trieste. Or are we being left to our own devises? Trieste is not very well serviced with international flights.

All input would be appreciated. Thanks!

When we sailed on Marina in Nov, O provided a transfer to and from the Marco Polo airport to the ship in Trieste on embarkation and debarkation day.    We chose to fly in early and stay in Trieste,  we have been to Venice several times.  We organized our own transfer to Trieste.  Trieste and surrounding countryside is beautiful and so glad we stayed in Trieste.

We sailed from Trieste in June, on a cruise that was originally planned to start in Venice.  We flew to Trieste, and had cruise shuttle from there. Some passengers flew to Venice, and I understand there was a shuttle from the airport provided, possibly because many passengers had been booked on flights to Venice before the itinerary changed.

We are booked out of Trieste next summer.  I spoke to an Oceania representative and she said transfers from Venice will only be provided if you use Oceania Air.  Of course, that was just one rep.  Others could have a different story.

We embarked Nautica last month in  Trieste. If staying in Venice, take a cab to Venizia Mestre train station (about a 15 minute ride from Piazzale Roma) and take the train to Trieste. Easy peasey and cheap. About a 2 hour train ride. You can also do this from Marco polo airport

Flixbus has a direct run between Marco Polo Airport and Trieste. However, you disembark the bus at Trieste Centrale Train Station  which is a 10-15 minute wak to the cruise pier ( or wait for a cab).

Flix also departs from Mestre and from Tronchetto in Venice.

It's not a walkable distance since O docks at the industrial port not the one in the town center.

It all depends - Mariana was docked in the town center when we embarked.....

How easy is it when you have heavy luggage? Especially getting on and off the train.

I moved 3 large bags without a problem. There is luggage storage space in each car. You'll have time to get on and off.

Why take a cab to the mainland train station?  Why not start train transportation in Venice?  TIA!

You could but getting to St Lucia station would require a vaporetto or alilaguna. Plus you would need to change trains at mestre.

Was not worried about time but the steps involved entering the train stations and also the trains. You inspire me to take the train instead of a costly private transfer since sounds like you had no problem. Is there space above your seat to stow normal size carry on bags? Realize large suitcases would have to be placed in the luggage racks. Thanks for your information.

Yes, there is a storage rack that runs the length of the car for carry ons. If you go from St. Lucia station there is a ramp to take your bags up into the station. Same with Venezia Mestre. At Trieste you just walk straight out, no steps. The trains are step up and if one person gets on and the other lifts the bag up to them it works. Plus people are helpful.  If it helps, I'm 74 and managed.
