Just off Rotterdam / Drink Packages Inclusions

Just got off the Rotterdam (fabulous cruise...had Aft Wrap-Around Neptune Suite) and thought I would post the drink packages and their inclusions since that was something I was wondering about before we cruised.  So hopefully the attached image will help those like me.

Another worry of mine was the craziness of the Schiphol airport and the port moving to Rotterdam.  Our worry was completely unwarranted.  Ship docked at 6am and disembarkation started around 6:30am.  We were off the ship and on the way back to Schiphol (had set-up private taxi service in advance) by a little before 7am.  Arrived at the airport around 7:45am, got through all the mess (we did have Sky Priority on Delta which helped a lot) and was eating breakfast in the KLM Lounge by 8:30am...easily making our 11:30am flight.

If anyone has any questions about the ship, experience, or some of the Norway ports, just ask and I'll try to answer them as best as possible.1981702429_DrinkPackages.thumb.jpg.743897344bac6fa2f78eebda56d89342.jpg

I have a question about the "Have It All" vs. the Signature Drink Package.

In the HIA promo it says "Signature Beverage Package has a daily limit of 15 beverages, which includes all beverages priced at US$11.00 or less and includes beverage service charges." HIA

Looking at the most recent bar menu I can find (Bar menu) there are a LOT of under-$11 spirits not in the brochure posted above.

Did the prices for drinks go up that much in the last year, or is there some other subtlety I'm missing?

Thanks.

IP: I think they don't list all the liquors in case supply chain leaves them lacking. If the liquor in a mixed drink or blend is under $11, it will be covered.

Well now I have a problem.  Usually drink Titos but not listed under vodkas.   Non of those listed are gluten free.   Will have to look at other options.

I am a TIto’s drinker too.  I saw it on the website that you can buy it by the bottle so I was hoping they’d serve it on the ship too.

I has questions about your cabin - what deck were you on?  Did you feel a lot of motion/vibration.  I am looking at deck 4 or 5.

Thanks -

We were on Deck 6.  The aft-wrap cabins are the only ones we book, so we're quite used to them.  Yes, you do feel motion back there.  We did have one night out in the North Sea where it got pretty rocky, but for the rest of the time, no bother at all.  Many times it's also noisy/vibrating back there when pulling into ports while the ship is docking.  But, for this particular cruise, that wasn't an issue at all except for when we were docking back at Rotterdam to end the cruise.

Deck 4 has a super wide side section but don't forget it also has the wiper contraption that kind of just is "in the way".  It's also not covered, so if raining, not good.

Thanks for the info - I love the aft cabins and we have sailed in them many times.  I don’t mind the motion but a constant vibration would bother me.  If it’s just when pulling in/out of port that’s not a problem.  My fav’s have been aft cabins in Alaska and we had a wrap-around balcony.  Thinking it would be much the same with this itinerary - we aren’t going to the far North part of Norway.    Were you on port or starboard side?  Did you smell cigarette smoke?

I an coeliac and have happily drunk any distllled liqour on my understanding that the distilling process removes the gluten. Am I wrong? Really hope not.

That is what they say but I can tell you I had a bad reaction to Belvedere.  After that wouldn’t try anything else.  Plus we went out to dinner one night and I know by the way I reacted they did not give me Titos.    Couldn’t have been anything else as all I had was a salad, steak and bake potato.   Everyone is different on what they react to.

So it looks like I may need to upgrade my drink package if I want my martinis made with Grey Goose or Titos. Is that correct?  🍸

According to Overhead Fred, Titos is in regular drink plan without upgrading

@pedirn @Tenn/cruiserClick on the link in IPB4IGOpost, an excellent resource where you can view all the bar menus

We had port side this time.  The only smoke we smelled was from our neighbor on the side who felt smoking on the balcony was a cool thing to do.  If you did well with the aft cabins in Alaska then you'll be fine with them in Norway.

Hey Matt, did you notice could you order a can of coke or were they only serving fountain?

For us, it was always a can.  We had the quench package (me and my wife) and whenever we asked for a Coke or a Sprite, we were given a can.  We would order several of them and then took the unused ones and put them in our mini-fridge for use while in our room.

Question for you, how was the glass of wine selection on your cruise?   We are currently on the Rotterdam and every bar we’ve been to has been out of the 11 dollar glass of wine we’ve requested.   It seems that this ship is completely out of the top of the line single glasses of wine offered in the signature beverage package including Prosecco, and the only ones available are the lesser quality wines.  Was that the same situation on your cruise or was there more variety?

Can all the time.

Our first day onboard (August 28th) it was only fountain Diet Coke as they had run out during the previous voyage.  Also they were giving the 'Open Water' alloy bottles, again as they were out of the 'cans'.  Normal supply resumed by 9pm that evening.

I am also currently onboard and drinking copious amounts of Merlot and Prosecco daily.

We had an issue with champagne supplies on Aug 3 sailing of N. Statendam from Copenhagen. The reported cause was supplies of champagnes from the US on the menus not reaching the ship. They were substituting European prosecco.
