ms Nieuw Amsterdam in Juneau August 25, 2022

Nieuw Amsterdam will be at the CT dock from 8am to 6pm.

 

It is another quiet Thursday with only two other cruise ships in port - Celebrity Eclipse at the AS dock (7:30am-8pm) and Norwegian Jewel at the AJ dock (11am-9pm).

 

Wednesday's decent weather is not staying around for Thursday.  There is an 80% chance of rain with steady rain in the morning and showers in the afternoon (they are expecting a quarter inch of rain).  The high will be 63F/17C and the low 53F/12C.  Sunrise is at 5:42am and sunset at 8:16pm.

It looks like a gorgeous day today in Juneau (the 24th), hope it's as nice tomorrow.  I will be interested to see her, as we are sailing on her in September for the first time, it's a 2-week cruise, and strangely, does not stop in Juneau.  We will have stops in Valdez and Prince Rupert.

It's not a nice today as it was yesterday.  Looks like the NA is in the channel right now.

I wonder if the tendering ships have restricted the other ships from swinging around closer to the camera?  This week with no ships tendering, we have gotten closer views on the ships in the basin coming into the docks.

We will be in Juneau September 8th on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Are they expecting rainy, cold weather? I'm trying to figure out what to pack, trying to limit myself to one piece of luggage for a 17 day trip from Denali to Seattle.
