Hi,

I sailed in the RLS on Anthem for 14 nights earlier this year. Happy to assist if you have any questions about the Genie.

TY for the offer.

Is Genie truly able to get me in when and where I want, no delay?

Can they help two young kids get into/on what they want to do, when they want to do it?

The adults plan to be (mostly) sequestered in suite areas, except for going to specialty dining each evening and shows.

Will we need to reserve dining months in advance, or is this handled 100% by Genie with zero issue with what/when we want?

Are there reserved seats for any desired shows, or is there a need to reserve or show up early otherwise?

Again, TY.

And Celebrity isn’t??  We are to the stage that, although we’ve had five offers for the casino cruises, we think just the taxes and port charges, you have to pay, make it overpriced. This was our feeling before the pandemic, and from what I’ve read on these boards, for the most part, it’s only gone down hill.

A free Cruise only cruise is not worth the taxes and port charges?  A little exaggeration?

Also, be very careful using Celebrity Air; refundable does not mean it is totally refundable.  It means it is refundable after they take $400 or $200 per person.  If Celebrity is taking care of canceling your cruise due to an emergency, you need to personally call and cancel your air fare, or you will lose all of it.  Yes, Celebrity air is part of Celebrity, but not in this circumstance...so beware.  It might be better to purchase with the airlines and, at the very least, have a year to use the ticket. That is what I usually do, especially outside the states. Let me preface that this is after final payment information; before the 90 days, so far there is not an issue.  I just want to make sure that you understand the rules as they are presently.  However, things always depend on whom you are talking with and the situation...

Not in the least. The only thing we see any value in. Everything else is so so and not worth the time or money.

It never used to be like that.

The airlines if booked direct will not refund airfare if you cancel unless you pay extra for a refundable fare. So losing $200pp is better than losing 100% if you have to cancel.  Last year we had a cruise from Barcelona on the Infinity canceled  by Celebrity 3 weeks from departure.  We had business class tickets through FBC and we got our refund in 7 days 100%. Celebrity took care of canceling our air,  we had to do nothing.

That is why it depends on the situation, but it still is 200 pp.  So, if your one-way air was 600 for two, you would lose 400; 200 would be refunded with refundable air.  If I have a year from the date I booked to use the airfare, it works out well for me in many circumstances.  Our situation involved Covid and Celebrity said they would handle it, but so far nothing has happened.  FBC said if we did not cancel our own flights before the date of service, we would lose all of it.  Julio, from FBC told me that is the rule now and Celebrity will not pay anything!  It will be interesting to see what happens after playing the waiting game.  So, for now I wait.  Every situation is different, but in this case, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!  It has been almost a month.  Who knows, maybe Celebrity will come through, but navigating the system when there are so many newbies is difficult.
