Princess Prizes

You do not have to be present to win, but it is more fun.  They will have the details in the Patter when it happens.

You have to see "Entered into Draw" on your door.  Most times you will see "Please try again"

We won the grand prize on our last cruise and were at the Piazza by accident as we just happened to pass by for a coffee when they announced the winners.  The names were pre-drawn, and they had a big cheque with my name on it.

Is this on all of the ships now? And how exactly does this work? I read the "rules" on the Princess website, and I'm still a bit confused. Thanks!

It is on all the Princess ships now.  You automatically get the Prizes option when you purchase the Premier Package but you can purchase it daily if you do not.  I believe it’s around $20 per day .. something like that.

So, the prizes are based on when you enter your cabin and you can see your prize on the digital door display.  It may state that you’ve been entered into the final drawing or ‘better luck next time’ or display the prize you’ve won that day, such as onboard credit added to your folio.
It only works while the casino is open so it works more like buying a lottery ticket… it is gambling.

I’ve won $25 on each cruise on which I’ve had the premium package but a friend won $275.
The final drawing is on the final day in the piazza and they give away another few $100 prizes and a grand prize of $5000.

Thank you! Very helpful.

No it is by the day

Not on the Emerald two weeks ago. I tried one day and it automatically charged my account for the all remaining days. I went to passenger services and they confirmed that it charges for the remainder of the cruise and they removed the charge for me.

Currently it is $20/ day and sign up is for the total voyage (or rest of the voyage depending on when you sign up)on Discovery Princess. If you sign up using door panel, it will state the total $ amount that will be charged then you have to hit ‘confirm’ button to complete the sign up process.

Guess I missed that total cost screen. I didn't notice the total until I looked at my shipboard account. Glad I checked right away. Just wanted to give it a shot on a sea day because as I understand it, it only works while the casino is open, so long port days would be more limited trips in and out of the cabin.
