Rare Smokeyham Posted January 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2023 Hello, We are scheduled to stop in Seward on July 3 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Do you have any suggestions for things we should be sure to see/do? Also, any recommendations for tour operators that you have used and liked would be appreciated. Thanks! oaktreerb Posted January 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Research the options for the 6 hour Kenai Fjords cruise. Great scenery and wildlife viewing.

Rare Coral Posted January 18, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2023 I would also recommend the Kenai fjords boat rides. Some other options: https://www.alaska.org/destination/seward/things-to-do

DogLover Posted January 18, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Check out Seavey's Tours if you like dogs ... we've done their Ididaride tour and loved it. Alaska Dog Sledding Tours - Seavey's IdidaRide - Seward, Alaska

Alaska Dog Sledding Tours - Seavey's IdidaRide - Seward, Alaska That looks incredible! We are thinking the 1.5 hour dog sled ride would be great. Question... The Seavey's ranch looks to be a bit inland. Is there a taxi or other transportation to get from the pier to this location?

Somehow it seems to me that in the past (ie. pre-pandemic) they may have done so.

In their booking confirmation they said they will pick us up from our ship 1/2 hour before our scheduled activity.
edinburgher Posted January 18, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2023 We had torrential rain the day we visited so ended up at the Sea Life Center as it was mostly indoors. For a bad weather day it was a good option and we enjoyed it.

When we did the Seavey's tour, we weren't on a ship but actually touring the area from Girdwood with a rental car. As you mentioned, though, I do believe they will provide shuttle service to and from their facility since you let them know you're on a cruise ship. Have fun!
LeeW Posted January 19, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 19, 2023 Kenai Fjords tour is great: https://www.alaskacollection.com/day-tours/kenai-fjords-tours/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Kenai-Fjords-Tours-Booking-Con&utm_source=Envoke-Envoke Note that this tour is 6 hours long - we took it between B2B cruises. Northern Aurora Posted January 19, 2023 #14 Share Posted January 19, 2023 My favorite Kenai Fjords small boat excursion vendor is Major Marine. Due to timing of the afternoon train departing from the Anchorage Airport to the Seward cruise terminal the ships departing from Seward often leave about 8 PM. So easy to do on the turnaround day of a B2B.
