Booking guaranteed VS choosing room on Silhouette?

Ok so we are going to book this ship for late Feb....it saves about 200 to do guaranteed over picking our room for either Concierge class or Veranda class. Currently there are still lots of rooms available for this sailing. There are a few rooms that seem to have that bigger balcony near the aft that would be of interest but not sure if its worth the extra $$. Thoughts? 

ALSO - what are the better floors to be on if picking?

If selecting your own cabin, look for ones that have cabins on either side and also on the deck above and below you, for the quiet.

 

As for saving money with a guarantee- yeah you might get a great one. But someone's going to get the worst one in your category. Do you think anyone will knowingly specifically book that one? Are you going to be happy getting a crappy cabin if it means saving some money?

I am a light sleeper and like to pick my cabin for quietness, close to the elevator, and morning coffee cafe.

Personal choice - if you really will accept any cabin then a guarantee is perfect for you. Not for us we always choose.

I prefer to pick cabin overall.  I like certian locations and lately been picking sunset veranda rooms which rarely are ever gty type cabins.

We once booked a guarantee and got a handicapped suite- while perfect for those who need a rollin shower and other special features, really wasn't comfortable for us.  I would suggest that if you can afford to pay the extra $200- pick your own cabin-
