ceo418 Posted February 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2023 So, we finally decided to book our Hawaii Vancouver cruise! We settled on Ovation of the Seas, leaving Honolulu on April 30. We're planning to fly to Honolulu a couple of days before to go see Pearl Harbor and a few other places. A couple of questions: 1. The ship is scheduled to leave Honolulu at 9 p.m. Does that mean boarding starts later, or does it happen at the usual times and we can go about normal first-day stuff onboard until it departs? 2. Is the solarium bistro only open to adults? It seems to be in the adults-only section. 3. We booked an "obstructed view" balcony, 7626. Anyone have anything to share about this cabin or others in the area around it? Thanks in advance! We're excited about it even though it's still over a year away! Standard time for boarding, around 11:30 Solarium Bistro is open for everyone over 16 You will have a little pop up from the davits on deck 6, you will not be able to look straight down to the water as a life boat will be beneath you. This is two cabins rear of yours, you can see the life boats and davits as the camera pans forward. ceo418 Posted February 20, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2023 While booking, the "explore this room" video showed a kettle and tea bags/cups near the vanity. Do these rooms really that amenity? That would be a great bonus if they did!

I have been on the Ovation 3 times, and boarding again next month.

Solarium Bistro open to everyone. One small oddity, the dog house is absolutely better than any other dog house on any Royal ship I have been on. FYI book your free northstar as soon as you board, reservations fill fast. Edited April 13, 2023 by taglovestocruise

CruisinAg Posted April 10 #18 Share Posted April 10 I'll be onboard as well. Arriving in Honolulu 4/29 after a few days in Vegas on the way out. (Ya know, 9th island, and all ;)) The NS has lots of free times that you'll be able to book once you're on board and connected to the ship's wifi, same with the skydive simulator. The ones for sale on the cruise planner are the "extended" experience which is a longer time and sometimes extends over the side of the ship whereas the free one typically just goes straight up and down.
