Loving your review!!!!  My sistah's and I cruise together a lot.  And we have a blast.  Love the Haven so interested in the Prima.  We feel as your do about ports.  Don't want to pay for taxis, lounge chairs, umbrellas, drinks - when we've already paid plenty for the Haven so why not just stay and enjoy all they have to offer.

Thank you! And yes, I’m with you on that.  I would certainly cruise in a non-Haven room but honestly? Not on the Prima unless I could be guaranteed a Vibe pass. Which I wouldn’t be. I don’t need a pool but need at least a hot tub to be happy.  I personally don’t like all the little pools because they are crowded and filled with people who seem to stay in them. It kind of turns me off…but a ton of people seem to love the set up so NCL did right by them.

I have to say that the Vibe on this ship is gorgeous! And spacious. I think it is actually nicer than the Haven sun deck in some ways.

One picture I forgot to share is this one. It is a sampling of the tasty bites available in the Haven check-in area at the pier. When I saw that croissant I was so excited! Finally found the almond croissant so many have commented on! It is unbelievably good. Omg.

We had lunch on the sun deck via the Sundeck snack menu”. Don’t let them fool you. They are not snacks! Big portions. And so good that we scarfed down as much as we could before even thinking of taking photos. Bad me.

Is there a sundeck snack menu you could share with us?

I had one that someone posted but it’s home. I will take a picture of one and post that probably tomorrow. Wait! Just found a copy. Will post in a minute.

It’s a little wrinkled and blurry but I think you can read it ok. DH had the pita pocket and the hotdog. I had the chicken Caesar wrap and we shared the tempura veggies. There were also fries and chips that came. Way too much food but really really good.

Easy to read, no problem with the wrinkles.

Enjoying the review, have the H6 2 Bedroom with the larger bump out balcony booked for April. First Haven experience figured we would splurge once and give the 15yo his own room. We are on fence about the bev package upgrade especially after all the bad bar reviews. The pics have been great. Looking forward to more useful info, thank you.

We are in an H6. It’s really nice. I will talk about that probably after I get home.

Just one of those mornings… I was up late having too much fun and champagne. I am a groggy morning person but this morning extra groggy. Made my way to Starbucks to get ungroggy then headed for the Haven sun deck. I have done that every morning.

but this time, grogginess won. Almost. I got lost. And I mean lost. Could not find my way here, got all turned around to the point where I was wiping a couple tears away. Jeez. I finally found a staff member to help but he directed me a certain way and I ended up at Vibe. I have no idea how I finally found it. Hopefully most people do better at this than I do.

today is Jamaica but we are staying on board. We still want to do or check out a lot of things. Like the mini golf. Who knows where that is but DH will help there. I’m too traumatized from my recent  getting lost to want to be the leader there.

I'll let DW help me find things. She is the one with an amazing sense of direction while I easily get lost. I think I already mentioned getting us on a train the wrong way in Livorno heading to Rome instead of Florence. Here's another one. On a land trip we landed in Amsterdam. While DW caught up on sleep, I went to try to find a place to change dollars to local currency, and I ended up getting lost trying to get back to our hotel. 😒

I mentioned the miniature golf to her, and she said I made it to competitive. But, I think I can talk her into it by saying we'll be kisses. If she wins a hole, I have to kiss her; if I win the hole she has to kiss me. We often bet kisses, and it's a win/win situation. 😊

We had such a delicious dinner at Hudsons. Apparently the only food porn from it is our desserts. Mine was the one on the top. Chocolate lava cake. I could live on just that. So good.

I had the coconut shrimp appetizer. I could live on that too. Can you say mouth watering?! The I had the fish and chips. Nirvana. I have been looking (in vain) for beer battered good mild fish since I moved down to NC. It was perfect. dH had pasta with meatballs and sausage and loved it. And great rolls!!! There’s that bread thing again.

now a segue…as we were finishing up our meal (which honestly I wished was not coming to an end) when two gentlemen came to our table. One was the chef and the other was ship wide restaurant manager. We chatted a bit and then the chef (I’m sorry, sir, I can’t remember your name, I meant to ask for your card) said “We understand you had a disappointing dining experience at Cagneys the other night. “

oh , yes… wait— what?? How did you know that??

they lust looked at me expectantly, waiting. A dim bulb went on in my brain. I said “cruise Critic???”

“Of course!” He said.

important lesson: it’s true: Norwegian does read threads on Cruise Critic.

so we had a long talk about what went wrong, how we handled things on our end, and why; how they handled it on their end and why.  The Manager really wanted us to try again at Cagneys. I kind of did not want to but then I changed my mind. I understand they want it done right and to know it was done right for us. So we are going on Saturday night for dinner. Our last dinner on the cruise. But no pressure, Cagneys! 🙂

a couple of things I learned. They are not really going to be doing the lids thing in food taken back to the room. They don’t really want that being done and I understood why especially after we talked about it. Example: Someone brings a piece of meat back, forgets to put it in the fridge for a few hours. Then when they do eat it, maybe it is turning bad.  In our case they wanted us to ask the butler to take it back to the room.

we talked about a lot of stuff. It was a really good conversation. These men are really smart and talented and clearly dedicated to their guests. Both DH and I liked them very much. So it is all good.

stay tuned for dinner on Saturday! Ha ha

We love mini golf. We are not sure yet if it is opened while in port. Fingers crossed.

The bump out balcony is really nice. Perfect space for a table and chairs, which it has. We keep forgetting to order room service breakfast! We plan to though. Only thing I wish we had out there was a lounge chair. There are two chairs and the table with four chairs. We could probably request a lounger but have not done so. Maybe not enough room with the other chairs there…

Kudos to NCL for this interaction with you. That does impress me, even if I do have my rants about NCL. The experience onboard is so wonderful, but the shoreside experience/decisions by higher ups. Just...anyway, what a great way to provide customer service. I'm truly awed. Have a great rest of your cruise.

It was so interesting. At first I was embarrassed and said I hope I was not mean! They said I had not been. They know the difference between someone who complains about every little thing and someone who has legitimate concerns and is otherwise fair.

We were kind of awed too. dH finally understands why I am a CC member.

of course now I feel like they are reading all this and I  might not have said everything right that they said! :-@

I went back and re-read your post regarding your experience.   It came across to me as a disappointment and I really did not think you were harsh at all.

Still impressive to me that they sought you out.

Thank you. I have reread it several times and I feel pretty ok with it. I am part bleeding heart and I don’t feel good knowing the chef and waiter probably got verbally spanked. But I suppose that’s part of the job too. It seemed to me that getting complacent and maybe careless is not what NCL brass wants from their people.

Still think at least someone at the next dinner is going to be thinking “there’s that woman that got us in trub!” Not that I am paranoid or anything. Do you think I should order the shrimp again? It was not good and I don’t really want to but DH says I should just to see. What’s your vote??
