Do they bring solo cruisers together

Disappointed the Beyond didn’t organize any meet up for the many SOLO cruisers.  Hope the EDGE does.

When I was on there was, I can't remember if every day because I didn't go but for sure day 1 had a meet up

I think I remember seeing something...but I didn't go. I don't cruise to go to solo meets.

 

If it follows most small interest things, there will be a meeting the first night and if no one shows up - or very few - then nothing else is done because they get the message that there is no interest.

 

The only line I know of where they have someone regularly forcing solos into interaction is NCL with their solo coffins and that lounge.

I just checked the Beyond’s current sailing and I see that they had a Solo travelers get together at 5 pm on the first day in Eden. perhaps you missed it. We’ve been told to use the refresh button on the app often, as events are added regularly.

There has been at least 1, normally 2-3 solo cruiser gathering posted in the Celebrity Today during every cruise I have been on.

I was on a 4 night Summit sailing a few weeks ago, and there was a ship organized, non-hosted, solo meet at 5 pm at one of the bars.  Attendance was pretty low and admittedly, I lingered off to the side and didn't participate.  That was the only "official" solo meet I saw.  On the last day, however, I noticed a sign by the guest relations desk that showed a time for solo gatherings.  It looked more like a passenger organized group than one by Celebrity as it was not published in the daily newsletter.

 

If you want to meet fellow solos, I highly recommend the NCL Breakaway and Breakaway Plus ships.  They have hosted meets daily and I've made some great friends over the years.

I'm on the Apex and there was an organized solo get-together on the first day (Saturday) at 5:00 pm in Eden.  The host mentioned having another one, but it hasn't happened yet.  They escorted seven of us to dinner in Cypress that night, and some of us meet to have dinner and see the shows together since.

On the Connie in January, we had a solo meetup in one of the bars. Met some fun people and we had dinner together most nights.

It’s definitely a good idea to see if there is a board by Guest Services that has posted meetings that aren’t listed in the program.  Like bridge players, veterans etc.
