The twin is about 33” wide, put together as a Queen they are 66”.  I traveled with my sister so they were separated.  My last cruise I was solo and had beds separated, but won’t do that again.  I have back and hip problems and tried piling pillows behind back, under legs, and they were falling off the side.  EM

I'd put them together.  You can flop around more at night and feel more comfortable.  One advantage of the second bed would be to store stuff on (honestly, we do that with the king too).

If you get them put together, try not to sleep right in the middle where the mattresses meet.   Sometimes they will separate a bit and push apart.  🙂

When I travel solo, I like to use the extra bed as a place to lay out my clothes or just as an extra flat space to store stuff as someone else mentioned.  You can always try it one way.  If you don't like it, have your steward adjust it for you.  Have a good time!
