OK...I just got back two weeks ago and I have been playing Lotto ever since because I have been bitten BIG TIME by the cruisen' bug. I can't stand it. I HAVE to go again, I a ma going to try to save (throwing my change in my coffe can) and go afer xmas or after Valentines day. I would love to ring in the new year on the Glory, it's a great ship with a woderful crew, but I don't think I can fill my coffee can that quick as I am sending Granma on a cruise....(without me:( )
Funny you should mention ringing in the New Year on Glory 'cause that's exactly what I'm doing. After shelling out big bucks last New Years Eve to go out with friends who decided to leave the club right after midnight (they were my ride so I had no choice) I decided I will party the way I want to this year.

We are so excited... we can hardly believe we are doing this! This is our first cruise - the six kids have never done anything like this. DH has always wanted to cruise, I never did. When the opportunity arose, the ports of call appealed to me; the ship activities and pizza! appealed to the kids and we booked it. I have loved checking the boards and planning our trip. What will I do when this is all over? It sounds like I will start planning the next trip!! We are headed out on November 6th and this thread has been awesome :D

Love to hear all about the Glory. Leaving 10/30. Have a question. I've been on 2 cruises, Victory 11-00 and 11-02. Some friends have said that on the day of embarkation they have found free drinks on another ccl ship. I know that the food flows but where are the free drinks on the GLORY. I know that the past guest party has them. Are they telling me tales???
I can't wait.

My hubby & I , along with 2 friends/cousins will be sailing the Glory on Nov. 6, 2004. Can anyone tell me if there are shore excursions to Chichen Itza from Progreso or Cozumel? Carnival tells me if they are posted on their shore excursion site, they will be available. Hope some one can tell me for sure.
To: CM2J2R25 and iluvcruises. We have a thread started for our Nov. 6, 04 cruise. Matter of fact, we have 2. Go to: http://boards.cruiseciritic.com/showthread.php?t=31700. You will find the other thread listed in a post. We want to have a get together, maybe in the Sports Bar on 1st day at sea. Would love to have you join us. Will look for your post on our threads. Our 1st time on the Glory, but sailed on Spirit to Hawaii. Sure hope the beds are more comfortable on the Glory, on the spirit, they were like sleeping???? on rocks. Should have gone to WalMart and bought egg crates. Will keep looking for a post on the shore excursions. The trip to Chichen Itza was the reason we booked on this ship, so hope we won't be disappointed. Til next time. Dot

My wife and I sailed on Glory in between Frances and Ivan. Instead of departing 09/04/04 at 4:00pm from Port Canaveral, we departed on 09/07/04 at 10:00pm from Miami. Wow!! What an experiance that was. We drove to Florida from Houston, TX. We will NEVER drive through hurricane force winds again.

However, we still had an awesome time. I can not compliment the Carnival Crew, Staff, and Entertainers enough. They went above and beyond, given the situation.

This was our son & daughter-in-law's first cruise. They loved it so much, they have already placed a deposit on their next cruise.

Are cruiseships leaving out of Port Canaveral now? I was wondering if the damage due to the hurricanes has been repaired. There are several Hotels that are closed due to Hurricane damage. Some may not open untill December. I was just wondering about the cruiseship dock...anyone got the low down on the sitution?
Thanks

I was on the Glory November 2003, the ship is great!! It was very rocky, but we had 2 storms coming at us from both sides, the crew said that it was never like that before. I was nervous about the kids being able to sign themsevles in and out, but sometimes they would get bored there. In the day I would tell them were to find me (usually by the pool) but at night I made them stay there until I came to get them. The food was great on the ship. The only problem we had was it was really smokey in the piano sing along bar and casino (not bad at beginning of cruise but by the end was really bad) I know you will all have a great time!!
