Carnival Glory: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE. speak up!

If I had a choice between #7440 on Empress deck, #6483 or #6452 on Upper deck, or #8455 or #8448 on Verandah deck, which one should I choose and why??!!!

I will tell you I just sailed in August on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas in AFT cabin #1388 LOVED this cabin because it was extra wide and so much room but because it was on the ends and shorter and had a pole in the middle of the room, it was the same price as other balcony cabins on the side instead of higher priced like other junior suites. I also loved having the extra large balcony.

I am looking for a similar cabin on the Glory. How would any of those mentioned above compare? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Hi, I just found this board and this thread. I am a mom cruising with 2 kids, ages almost 13 and 9, boy and girl. I've cruised once before, 2001 Carnival Spirit, Alaska with my now ex and the kids, and my kids have also been on the Disney Wonder. I have booked cave-tubing in Belize thru X-treme Belize that I read a lot about on many websites. Am also considering horseback riding with them in Costa Maya. Am disappointed not to be stopping in Key West. Anyone with any helpful info on the Glory or the ports would be so helpful to me! I've travelled alone with my kids plenty -- but never so extensively or on a cruise. I am excited to share this experience with them --- and also to have them meet other kids so I can have some grown up time. I am hoping that we are seated with others at dinner --- how do you find out??? I would love to correspond with a mom or family also going on this cruise -- or someone who was on it before. THANKS for reading this - I look forward to becoming obsessed with this thread!

We are going on the "Glory" March 19 2005. Can't wait....

So glad to see this board, I have been finding Glory reviews few and far between. Lets try and keep this alive until Spring Break!!!

There are 17 of us going and 1st time for all of us. We all have balconies on the Upper Deck... Does anyone know if its noisy being above the nightclubs and casino????

Well just can't wait to get on board and experience all the things everyone says about cruising.

We range in ages 16 - 52...

Thanks again for all the great info and keep it going...

We had a wonderful time. I'm thinking of booking the same cruise on her next year and take my grown daughters with me.
The Ship was beautiful and always clean. I can't think of one thing we didn't enjoy.
If I had to find a complaint....well I'm still thinking ..nope can't think of one.
If you have any questions I'll try to answer them.

Hey everyone - sailed Glory on 10/2/04. Glory was wonderful!! I traveled with my best friend and her family there were 11 of us total.

Very very clean. Our cabin was on deck 2 (Main) inside cabin, which was fine for us. There were 3 of us in our cabin 2 adults (34 and 40) & 11 yr. old. Being girls we managed to make room for all of our clothes, cosmetics, etc.

I think the best part of Glory was the Lido deck. The pools were fun, slide was a blast, everyday activities were a riot. (Fear Factor, you have to play if they have it on your trip). I never laughed so hard!!! For some reason I always got volunteered to participate in the afternoon activities!!!

We ate at the early seating in the Platinum Room for dinner and all 11 of us were put at a great round table. Our waiter was nice, (maybe could have been a little more attentive, but over all good). Breakfast buff. was good, took long time to get made to order omel., but survived. Lunch always something different each day.

Entertainment was great!! Blue Bar is a trip!!
Cruise director is really really funny and shows were great as well!!

Only negative I can say about Glory was slow elevators!! Hey if that's all that was bad then it wasn't bad at all!!

Any questions on Glory, let me know!!

I've booked my wedding cruise on Inspiration for March 2005 out of Tampa. Changed our plans from Vegas to Carnival Cruise, so what does that say about my first Carnival experience!!

HI the cave tubing is a lot of hot humid waling for littler ones, just wanted to let you know so maybe you can think about it. We took ours on the snorkel to see the rays with the same company in Belieze and had a blast. MY kids loved the camp, never wanted to be with me. Costa Maya has a nice little port with a very nice swim up huge free pool and fountain, It was very nice. I will be glad to help answer any questions that I can !

We are booked on the Glory March 19, 2005. We were on the Conquest March 2003 and the only word to describe it was WONDERFUL!!!! That was our first cruise. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, & Cozumel. Grand Cayman was great but I LOVED Cozumel. Can't wait to see the Eastern Caribbean this March. We have 87 in our group. This is going to be a GREAT spring break!!

Gidday,

Storm’n Norman will be cruis’n on the Carnival Glory on February 19th 2005!

This will be the 2nd cruise for me on this ship in 6 months (having cruised on her in August 2004)!

With Presidents Day on Monday February 21– it means you ONLY need to take off 4 “working” days to join me and some friends to the Eastern Caribbean (Nassau, St. Thomas & St. Maarten - with over 3.5 days at sea)!!! Having cruised this itinerary at least 25 times, I know EVERYTHING there is to know about the port, ship, excursions etc.

So if you are NOT cruising on the Carnival Miracle on February 13 (Valentine's Day Cruise) with all the 'other' Cruise Critic crowd, then why don't you take your loved one, partner or friend and join me, Skippy and John Heald (as your Cruise Director) on board the "Blaze of Glory" Cruise - for a complete week of "fun, frivolity and madness" as we hit the Eastern Caribbean!

There will be a "Bubbles Blaze of Glory Sail-Away Party", a "Meet n' Greet" (with a 'special guest') as well as a "Gift Exchange" and other surprises (including Storm'n Norman's St. John Jaunt) for those who decide to attend!

Hope to see you........check the Roll Call Forum if you decide to cruise with us!
Boarding the Glory on 1/1/2005 -- we're still confused about how the food works though, is there a buffet at every meal? only some meals? how do they keep you from eating all day long with the 24 hour pizza, etc. do you have to pay for extras?
You will probably get lots of answers but you can eat all day and all night -- that is part of the fun of cruising. You have your assigned dinner seating, and your open seating times for breakfast and lunch in the dining room... AND you can choose from the buffet on the Lido deck for all 3 meals, AND you can indulge in seafood upstairs in the Red Sail at lunch or Sushi dowstairs at dinner, AND you can have pizza or ice cream 24 hours, AND you can order from room service, AND there's a midnight buffet.

I myself plan a marathon day in which I sample from every food type within 24 hours just to see if it can be done!

There are some charge for extras... Creams offers premium coffee and desserts for extra charge. I've heard if you are a coffee snob like me,
you will want to pay.

What they REALLY hope is you will spend your "extra" money on drinks, shore excursions, pictures, onboard shopping, art (auction), and in the casino.
