The infinite veranda gives you a floor to ceiling view which is great. With the top half of the window closed the cabin will not get cold, if you open the window then yes some cool air will come in. 
 

For Alaska we want a Sunset veranda as you get a 180 degree view and if you are out on the balcony the ship blocks a lot of the wind.

There lots of sunset verandas available on the Edge to Alaska in 2024.  I just tried a mock booking and May 11/24 has one, May 17 has one and June 7 has five available.   I didn't check other dates

If they're available they'll appear as an option in the category of "Veranda", they're not their own category...Visual aid:
