sprn Posted June 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2023 We are flying down to Miami with only carry on luggage so we can’t pack liquids. We are coming in the morning of our cruise and going straight to the port ( not ideal, but we are attending a wedding the evening before). Are there any stores in or right around the port where we can buy toiletries and drinks (water bottles and/or soda)so that we don’t have to purchase on the boat? We want to avoid the time for an extra stop on the way from the airport Thanks
brunello22 Posted June 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2023 There is a CVS Pharmacy a few blocks from the port on SE 3 Ave.
Rare Lois R Posted June 17, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Just for clarification, SE 3rd Ave is downtown. You will have to take a cab/uber, etc....to get to that CVS.
Rare LHT28 Posted June 17, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2023 there is a CVS near the port but you would need to take a taxi or uber 200 Biscayne ave we usually go there but we are usually there the day before just drop your bags at the port & grab a taxi to the shops depending on your time There is Whole foods & Publix close by as well There is a free trolley that goes in the port area & around Miami near the port that might work for you If it is running (usually crew take it) https://www.miamigov.com/files/assets/public/document-resources/pdf-docs/trolley-maps/coral_way_trolley_map508.pdf https://www.miamigov.com/Transportation-Roadways/Trolley-Information/Get-Trolley-Information-Schedules-and-Maps
skrufy Posted June 17, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2023 The CVS pharmacy is on Biscayne Blvd and NE 8th St., just down from Bayside Marketplace. Between these two you should find what you need. Five minutes from here to the POM. The free trolly picks up on Biscayne Blvd in front of Bayside.
Flymia Posted June 19, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2023 Nothing at the port. Plenty of shops in Downtown, Publix or CVS. Publix will have more choices of course. But you will need to do an actual stop. There is no way to walk from there to the port of vice-versa. It would not be cheap, but there are stores on the departure level of MIA pre-security. You can take the escalator up from baggage claim. Don't believe there is any wine for sale there though.
Capt_BJ Posted June 20, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2023 (edited) if you are visual ..... it IS possible to walk to town over the bridge and there IS a free 'shuttle' not necessarily to these specific places ..... You could walk from the port to Publix and back and it would be 5 or 6 miles total <add distance for specific teminal>. I routinely walk this for exercise. Wanna do it pre cruise carrying some groceries one way? Oh, btw, if this is summer it will be 1000 degrees with 120% humidity ..... Rare Keith1010 Posted June 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2023 If your time is limited do go to the CVS as many have said. Publix and Whole Foods would add a little more time and what you have listed you can find at that CVS. I have walked the bridge many times but if this is the day you embark that makes no sense and I would grab a taxi or use Uber. Keith
