Royal Suite on Enchantment

By some stroke of bizarre luck and earlier than usual timing, my Royal Up bid was accepted for the Royal Suite on our October Enchantment sailing.  Searches on here have given conflicting information on some of the amenities.

For example, I know that suite guests can have breakfast at Chops, but there are different accounts regarding lunch.  Given that there is only one sea day, it is probably not an important distinction, just curious.

The RC site lists bridge and galley tours, but have they started up again after Covid, or is that another permanent change?

Enchantment doesn't seem to have a separate suite lounge and Diamond lounge...since we are new Diamond members, I understand about the 4 daily vouchers, but does being in a suite on Vision class add anything to those in the way of happy hour drinks?  And are there still meals and appetizers served there throughout the day?

There are three tender ports on our sailing...RC says "some ships" have priority tender for suite guests but there is no way to know if Enchantment is included.

The website also mentions a minibar but I am guessing that in spite of RS being the highest and most expensive category, there is a charge for anything in it, correct?

Any information would be helpful, we've only sailed once in a full suite and that was on Oasis where amenities are very different.

There is no suite lunch on ship classes that don't have a Coastal Kitchen.

There are bridge tours, but they're not publicized. You have to ask the concierge about them.

Enchantment's suite lounge is still named the concierge lounge.

Priority tendering just means the concierge will escort you to the front of the tender line.

Thank you for all of this, and for such a quick response.  Is the concierge lounge in addition to the vouchers, or do we have to use the vouchers there as well?

If you're in a suite and get drinks in the concierge lounge, these do not count against your vouchers. It's a true open bar.

Drinks are complimentary during happy hour only, roughly 5-8.  Use your D drink vouchers before or after that

Ah, good to know... thanks!

ETA: What is the difference between the Diamond Lounge and Concierge Lounge then?

Concierge lounge is only for suite guests (and Pinnacles depending on the day). Diamond is for anyone Diamond and above regardless of cabin.

One of the benefits of being in a suite is that you can order en suite from the MDR menu any time the dining room is open, so dinner in your Royal suite will be a nice experience.

We have asked the suite concierge to arrange a bridge tour for us and if they can round up enough other suite guests they can make that happen.

We got lucky last cruise. Despite us telling the concierge that if we were the only ones to request it, we didn't need to go, he did it anyway. We got our own private bridge tour.

Is that something you have to ask for in advance? It seems like a nice idea given that there’s a dining table.

We have stayed in the RS on Enchantment a couple of times and you get nothing extra.

No free wifi

No mini bar

Maybe a bottle of fizzy wine on boarding day.

There will be snacks, small plates of food daily, but nothing extravagant

You will be escorted onto the ship by the concierge

You will receive an email from them a week before sailing

Let them know what time you will be arriving at terminal

When you check in they will notify concierge and come and collect you

You will be escorted directly to the suite

(Drop off hand luggage etc)

Bridge tour just ask concierge and they can arrange for you

Enjoy the RS

Not necessary. You just call the room service number when you are ready to order and tell them you will be ordering from the MDR menu. We usually pull up the MDR menu in advance and make a list of what we want delivered so it is quicker to tell them what we want. BTW, there is no charge for room service in a suite.

We will typically order in 2-3 evenings on a 7 night cruise.

Though sometimes you have to remind the room service person on the line that you are in a suite.

True, which is why we always start the conversation with name, suite number, and “we will be ordering from the main dining room menu this evening”.

Another question.... what is the outlet situation?  Are there US outlets in the bedroom and other rooms or just EU?

U.S outlets. There is a EU outlet that the cabin steward uses when he vacuums. Henry needs a lot of juice😇

You don't really have to even give your name and when calling the suite (cabin) number shows up on their phone.

Besides breakfast we like to order dessert from the MDR menu just before their dinner hours close.

A nice night snack as we watch TV.

I was brought up to be respectful of the person on the other end of the phone, and stating my name is my way of showing that respect so the person answering knows with whom they are talking.

On a side note, we often order breakfast and lunch in as well.

EoS March 2023: I called Room Service during Dining Room hours, stated I was ordering from the DR menu and enjoyed a few meals and mornings on the balcony in an OS . 🙂 I did identify my name and suite number. A really nice perk! Enjoy your cruise.

We are on Grandeur in two weeks in a GS, and DW has already informed me that she plans on spending every evening on the entire cruise having dinner on our balcony.😇

Sorry you mistook the bit of info I added as being "disrespectful" as it certainly wasn't meant to be.

FWIW, I read that as a polite way of stating "suite" without making that word the main emphasis.

And I agree it is always appropriate to give name. We have opted out of caller ID, call waiting, and answering machine, so we appreciate it. A few years ago we had a call on Thanksgiving, wishing us a happy day. We figured it was our son. But the conversation became more and more puzzling, and we finally had to ask who it was. It was a friend we hadn't seen in a long time.

Yes I was aware of the no Wi-Fi, which is a shame since isn’t like the CK where its not available on the ship. There are so few upper level suites on Enchantment that it seems like a petty denial of a perk.  Luckily we booked the voom package during a Labor Day sale so it was ridiculously cheap.

I’m really liking the in room dining idea, especially since we’re signed up for MTD and won’t have a specific table to notify that we won’t be there.

Now to find some sheet music for the piano….I don’t think I’ve played in 20 years lol. Or is it programmed?

Concierge was able to get our daughter sheet music, so she could play

There is also a programmed option 🎹

Enjoy 😊
