Can you make your cruise a B2B last minute while on board ?

Hi all.  Wondering if you can turn your trip into a B2B while onboard assuming there is any availability.     I am thinking you would likely have to call or book it online?   How many days in advance would be required?   If successful what are the logistics (luggage, check in)

I have wondered the same thing.

when I did my Jewel TA which ended in Athens people were talking about the next leg which went on to Istanbul.

we would have loved to go on the next leg but I had already been gone 15 nights and i knew my boss would not have been amused if I asked to extend.

yes you can.

you go to the CruiseNext people to book.

and as a plus, you can get the cheapest no promo GTY room (ncl normally assigns room at random) and you can PICK your room #!

GTY rooms dont have beverage, internet, or dining promos.

but it still comes with the $50 shore excursion promo.

this is an excellent option for gamblers who made the 2nd casino tier level or higher because they get free drinks at the casino bar

If cabins are available you can book the next week while on board.

Pretty sure they will always take more money to fill empty cabins! But our problem with trying this is that we have return flights, hotels, etc. and plans for when we get off the ship. It would work well if you can rearrange all that stuff...

Helps especially if you are from the general area with simple transportation. I met a solo cruiser on the Gem in 2019. She was from Baltimore and use bus transportation. Something like Peter Pan to/from to NYC. She would check with the CruiseNext desk as late as two days or the morning before disembarkation. If the next cruise was around $399/$499 base price, she would book it to do B2B. She had done it several times over the years. These were usually in the fall and winter so the cruises were 10 to 14 days long. Cabin category was not important and she wasn't interested in the so-called Free at Sea. All she had to do was to change her return bus ticket.

Last year July we were on the Star round trip out of Reykjavik to Greenland … we didn’t make it to Greenland due to some storm brewing up between Iceland and Greenland so we went to Norway instead. A couple we met on board took it in stride (they hadn’t been to Norway!) and went on and booked the next sailing that did go to Greenland!

Thanks so much!   Will consider it for sure.

Just now I remembered another … on the Jewel Nov 2018 we went from Singapore to Sydney - great cruise, and we met a couple who were having so great time that they decided to book next sailing to stay on ship to New Zealand!
