Insurance for covid.. but what about Insurrection??

Any travel insurance plan I've seen specifically excludes acts of war, insurrection and terrorism. They also exclude coverage in government no go areas.

Participation in criminal activity is also a reason to deny coverage. I suspect that close proximity to a riot / illegal protest activity might get swept into this exclusion.

To clarify what "mom says" says above, if Canada issues a travel advisory to avoid travel to a destination after you bought the insurance but before you travel, that is considered a valid reason for cancellation and will be covered by insurance.

If you travel there with an advisory in place, you will not be covered for anything that happens on your trip.

DH and I have been planning a trip to Isreal and Jordan ever since we were postponed due to COVID.  Funny thing, how bombs and kidnapping makes one re-think their plans. We'll hold off again, with thoughts and prayers for everyone in the vicinity of this horrible situation, until peace breaks out once again.
