College Fjord

We are cruising on Princess and will cruise College Fjord. We are planning on 9 nights interior and are considering a tour boat from Whittier that does College Fjord and Blackstone Bay. Has anyone done both? We are concerned that it may just be a repeat of what we saw from the cruise ship, though on a smaller ship. Trying to decide if it is worth the extra money.

I assume you are considering one of the Phillip's cruises out of Whittier. During one of our R/T cruises out of Vancouver, we booked the 26 Glacier Tour during the day we were in Whittier. It was a great day, seeing lots more than we did the previous day from the ship.

The 26 Glacier tour is excellent. Absolutely worth the time and effort.

In addition to the 26 Glacier cruise, we’ve also taken the shorter Glacier Quest cruise.  
 

I really enjoyed the shorter cruise this past summer.  Still saw a number of glaciers and wildlife.  It was nice getting back to Whittier in time to have dinner before getting back on the ship for the southbound journey.
