In your opinion would you do embarkation lunch in Indulge or a sitdown at Hudsons?

indulge, hands down, every time. it does depend on how early you board. as the bird pointed out, savvy folks with early boarding are now on to indulge and eager to try it. on the prima out of new york earlier this year, i was eating lunch at indulge by noon. but i was seated by 11:45.

you'll have plenty of time to sample hudson's. indulge will get progressively busier as the cruise wears on, more people will try it and like it and you'll have to plan to be there a good twenty minutes or more before the start of meal service to ensure a table.(or towards the end of service.)

It would depend on how much luggage you're carrying.

haven't been on the viva yet, but on the prima, you could drop embarkation-day hand carry luggage off at the improv while you gallivanted about.

The Norwegian Viva veining her first revenue passengers to the Port of Nassau.

All of the port structures, including the old Festival Hall,  were demolished and rebuilt during the pandemic and the years that have passed. The Birds were on the very first North American restart Cruise that embarked from the Port of Nassau in June 2021.

Ocean Boulevard provides the most open deck space on any contemporary cruise ship. It provides a combination of loungers, day beds, swings and more. There are sofas for quiet reading and reflection. The outdoor restaurant seating provides tables for games, work (gasp), and reading.

Currently, you can drop your handcarry in the Casino on the Viva.

well, that would be a switch.

up to now, the only thing they've allowed me to drop in the casino is fistfuls of cash.

great photos, thanks so much. i love the whimsy of the rock, paper, scissors sculpture! with regard to the towel animals... is that standard for your cabin attendant, something special for the inaugural, or in response to your specific request?

Welcome to Great Stirrup Cay

The island has minimal shade. Go early to find a palm tree to camp under. The Bird always opts for a clam shell. Shade and a bit of privacy. Pick a clam shell that had a mesh vented back (so you are not a cooked / steamed clam at the end of the day.

Clam Shells $49

Umbrellas &29

Palm trees free.

The Viva had one significant improvement over the Prima on Ocean Boulevard. The “Hydration Station” which was never open on the Prima has been replaced with an ice cream machine!!!!

The sign says "Ice Cream". But if it's from a machine, something tells me it's ice milk. Hope not...

For the low low price of $10 per person.

Wonder if the cost to play mini golf and darts will continue?

We were on the Prima in January and they did not charge us to play golf.  We didn’t play darts, but that also didn’t have a charge.

we had fun playing mini golf. It is a fun little course.

Press Your Luck - Live is the newest game show at sea. The format isn’t the best, and unlike the price is right live, only three players are selected to play. You need to fill out an application and take a test on embarkation day, then audition on the day of show. A few audience members have a chance to come up during “intermissions” and win prizes (shot glasses, t-shirts, bags, board games). The biggest winner so far won $1700. Our show had a guy who got greedy and got whammy and lost $830.
