Star/Icon aft thoughts… noisy?

Thinking about booking for 2026… aft balcony for 4 is about 7800 with gratuities.. but the more I think about it, I’m wondering if the noise for the splash away kiddie park in the aft on deck 7(I believe) will be loud. Anyone else have thoughts about this?

That is what I’m thinking - or just forego the aft as it will probably be $2,000 more by that stage 😂

Lol no one has sailed on Icon yet so I don't see how anyone can answer your question based on experience. In theory at least it should be better than Oasis Class Boardwalk Balcony. Kids probably won't be out in the kiddie areas late in the day and there are no noises blasting from the Aqua Shows at night.

oh I totally get that no one has experience I was just wondering if anyone else had thoughts/reservations about it as well

So if you are nocturnal, don’t book it

I have an aft facing balcony deck 12 on the Inaugural and an aft facing on deck 14 in March 2025, I'll be sure to bring earplugs for that one @schooner_Drinker I'm guessing 2500 plus kids

Looks to be very dark with all the overhangs.

I know.  That is the only question I had with Icon design.  Know they had to make it different than Oasis class, but the aft balconies seem to get smaller and definitely darker going down as compared to the opposite on O class.  Some like the shade, but it might make those aft suites look dark. I prefer sunny decks and natural light coming in.

 

Am sure someone a lot smarter than me thought about that before build,  so there must be a good reason for it.

Based solely on deck plans I'd say decks 11-14 would be high enough to avoid the screaming from Deck 7.
