Food on the Venezia

We are leaving on the Venezia in three weeks and I feel totally unprepared. For those that have been on it before, what are some food and drinks that we have to try. After 13 cruises on Carnival, you get used to the Guys, Blue Iguana etc. Excited to try something different

Meat lasagna MDR.  Top 5 entree at sea.

Try the pasta bar for lunch for something different. Bonsai Sushi we had the meat skewers and tempura shrimp.  I also had a ramen bowl that was very good.  Lemon Spritz in Rococo’s.  May have had 1 or 10 of those😜.

Guys burgers does have a couple offerings unique to Venezia:

While I wasn't a fan of either of them, I will say they are definitely different and it looked like a lot of people were really enjoying them.

Bonsai Sushi (pay restaurant) was among the best food we had in our 15 days on Venezia.

I recommend trying a cappuccino from the Frizzante bar; I found them quite delicious. And the seating nearby is good for people-watching while you enjoy the coffee.

I liked their Pizza, especially the white pizza.  The dough was very good.  I have been on more than a dozen cruises and Venezia's pizza was the best.

Agree that the pizza was quite good.  Better than we expected.  Chinese food offered for sea days in the seafood place in the aft.  Also we enjoyed our meals in the MDR all except for the fried chicken.

Sept B2B we only ate in the Lido a handful of times; MDR, Steakhouse and Teppanyaki were all mostly good. Teppanyaki was hands down favorite.

Wow that is surprising as this past March on Celebration the lasagna was terrible and inedible, the single worst dish I have been served while on a cruise ship....🤢

Good to know thank you. The pepperoni burger doesn't have an actual burger patty on it, it looks like??

Not seeing much about Il Viaggio. Anyone here tried it? Is it worth the extra $42 per?

We ate at Il Viaggio in Sept. We both commented that the fried cheese was the best we've ever had.

We were B2B and had pre-booked for 1x each week; we canceled the 2nd week and added an additional Teppanyaki. 

So, food was good, but to us was not worth the upcharge.

Everything except the giant chicken is what we ordered - this was the table next to us. They said it was good, but a lot of chicken - easily shared.

I wish I had some pictures for you of the food, but I don't take my phone with me often when eating in the MDR.  We ate there every night for our cruise and enjoyed almost everything except for the fried chicken on the last night.  I did have the shrimp cocktail each night and each night they were quite good.  I had salmon one night and it was wonderful.  My wife did the braised short ribs (at least I think that was what it was) and enjoyed it.  

 

The salmon cake was not good though.

In the Marco Polo restaurant.  The call it a pasta bar but you pick off a small paper menu.

Thank you for that. We'll probably skip it. It looks good but its almost as much as the steakhouse now and im not gonna lie, if i got that Caesar "salad" and i paid for it i would not have been happy lol

So, you can understand why we canceled the 2nd week. The Steakhouse was very good and Teppanyaki was fabulous. Teppanyaki is $5 less at lunch than at dinner - same menu, same portions. It's a bargain. Has surf and turf, if you like that.
