Can you wear earplugs/headphones at a live music venue?

As someone who has lost about 60% of my hearing I sympathize with you.  I wear small foam ear plugs that you roll between your fingers to reduce the size then insert them into the ear canal.  They will expand and fill the canal to block out excessive noise but you will be able to still hear the music.  Unless someone looks into your ear canal they likely won't see them.  These foam ear plugs are used by many who use firearms because they are efficient at reducing firearm noise to an acceptable level.  They are available at most sporting goods stores and the cost is very minimal.  On Amazon you can get 100 pairs of these for less then $10 - and they are reusable.

Headphones too bulky, but if you want to carry them, that's on you....but totally recommend ear plugs as perfect, portable option....plus, they do double-duty for blocking-out snoring spouse (ask my DW).

Perfect topic for the pkg I mailed to a friend today.

Only her husband was complaining that She snores too loud & keeping him up.

I suggested earplugs... don't leave home without em.

Anyway, I mailed them a pkg of earplugs today, less than $4. Got at Target, or anywhere.

I luv all the responses touting earplugs!

You really don't want to Pete Townsend your ears!!

YAY to the Earplug wearers!!!

premium noise cancelling headphone is also one of the very few things I splurge on, and I never travel anywhere without it.

If you want a discrete (what all the kids are wearing lol) noise canceling device get the apple air pods. I loved my Bose noise cancelling headphones and resisted getting the AirPods.  Now that I have the AirPods OMG I’ll never go back.
