Newbies to Celebrity with a Few Questions

DH and I will be taking our first Celebrity cruise on the 12-day Constellation out of Tampa on March 11, 2014. This will be our 76th cruise, so not new to cruising at all.

1) Does Celebrity do the new muster drill (since Covid) where you just go to your lifeboat station and check in with your cabin cards and leave?

2) I use a rollator (walker on wheels with a seat) when on cruise ships and on Holland America (our favorite cruise line) I just push the rollator through the cabin doors and don't have to fold it up. Could anyone who has used a rollator before on the Constellation let me know what the situation is on the Connie?

3) When in the casinos on Holland America and Carnival I can charge $20 to whatever amount to our cabins without a service charge. Is that also true on Celebrity?

We look forward to a new cruise line and appreciate your answers. Thanks.

Question 1:  Yes

Don't know about question 2

Question 3: The casino passes out a card with instructions on how to turn OBC into cash.  Once you charge to your room you have to put 50% of the amount at risk, then you can cash out w/o fee.

Question 2: not sure about Constellation but on all S class our 4 Wheeled Rollator goes through the doors without folding. Avoid Princess as the Rollator has to be folded for cabin doors and the corridors are narrower - you can't pass a stewards cleaning cart without having to fold the R. Also on S class choose the bed by the balcony option - you get much more space as you enter and the Rollator fits neatly between the end of the couch and the wardrobe door.

Based on my Solstice cruise September 2022:

1. That was the way we did it.  You must either watch on TV or the app and then report and check in.  You do not need a life vest to check in.

2.  Cannot answer this one.

3. I cannot answer this one either as I feel if I have to charge gambling to the room, it is a slippery slope like buying lottery tickets on a credit card.

1.  Watch the muster drill on the Celebrity app the morning of embarkation day, either over breakfast  or while waiting to board the ship.  Upon boarding, go to your stateroom, drop your carry-on and pick up your SeaPass card at the door.  Then go to your Muster station and check in with the crew member there.  It's easy!

2.  My DH uses a rollator and can maneuver it into a Concierge stateroom.  We fold it at night to minimize the space it takes up in the room.

3.  I have only used by on-board account once in the casino.  It's more hassle than it's worth, so I bring a set amount of cash for my casino play.  I keep that money (wins and losses) in a separate envelope to keep track of my budget for the cruise.

Please enjoy sailing on the Constellation!  She was my first Celebrity ship and is a wonderful experience, compared to other cruiselines!
