Teach class on board

They did this a very long time ago.  Don’t think they do it now.  Most often, they hire Enrichment Speakers under contract.

I had a friend who was on a world cruise.  She would often hold classes that were sanctioned by the ED.  I don’t think she got paid or compensated.

Higher end cruise lines with smaller ships, such as Viking, often have an artist-in-residence to teach art, embroidery, or some other craft.  It is not a paid position.

But hopefully includes room & board?

Yes.  You would be onboard as a passenger with all passenger privileges including a low-end passenger cabin.  There may also be a few perks thrown in such as discounts on drinks, laundry, or shore excursions.  I have a friend who lectures on ships.  Most go through an agency that charges a fee for placing them onboard a cruise.

How do you get a job teaching classes, I.e. mosaics, art etc. onboard ?

Princess usually does not have these kinds of activities on short cruises. Any arts and crafts are a small part of an Ass't Cruise Director's job, which includes very long hours. On long cruises they may have cultural enrichment staff that are paid or not paid. Princess cut way back on placing staff on board as passengers for little or no charge in exchange for some sort of service.

If you wish to get a cruise ship job I would search all cruise lines on job sites. Keep in mind that cruise ship jobs are long hours. Cruise Director staffs have multiple functions.
