We have arrived in San Juan!

We are not in a rush to leave the ship. When we go ashore in San Juan, I’ll usually walk with her for a little while, and then find a Husband Daycare. Patti suggests that I stay on the ship and utilize Cheers, instead of spending money for drinks onshore. What a smart wife I have! I kiss her goodbye and head up to the Red Frog Tiki Bar!

Patti is making her way off the ship. She passes this big line at Java Blue, and then steps off the ship at 11:20am…..

As soon as she leaves the terminal she runs into Heather & Peter…..

Here are a couple of views of the Nieuw Amsterdam which is docked right across from the Celebration…..

The Norwegian Encore is docked across the harbor. I don’t think this was a planned stop for her, but a deviation, which is why she is docked there…..

Patti begins her tour of Old San Juan…..

I haven't been to San Juan in years. I did sail on HAL Nieuw Amsterdam back in 2017. Very nice ship.

I love some of the buildings in San Juan. Like this bank. Why?

Look at the close up of the window and panels. Great Deco design.

The wrought iron reminds me of New Orleans.

As do the courtyards in the middle of the buildings.

Meanwhile, back on the Celebration I’m working on my Cheers Package at the Red Frog Tiki Bar. I had a Guy’s Burger to help with my drink consumption. I was joined a short time later by Pat & Jim who had returned to the ship after a short walk around Old San Juan. After a couple more there, we made our way back to the Tides Bar to have some drinks with Suresh and I Made.

Back on shore, Patti continues with her stroll around Old San Juan…..

Loved the pics of the Coast Guard! My nephew is stationed there on one of the small boats you have pictured here! We were on Celebration for Thanksgiving and their boats came along side of the ship and blew horn etc. Then we spent the evening with him and he took us to an awesome restaurant on the water with fish tacos! Best day ever!

Meanwhile us steerage people are getting some culture and visiting the Museum of the Americas.

Loved Eddie Ferraioli's stuff.

Imna Arroya Cora is “a product of the Puerto Rican printmaking tradition”. Paper art!

But she also works in sculpture, bookmaking, mixed media and other art. This is called: Ancestors of the Passage.

There were also a few rooms with local Folk art, that showcased the customs and traditions that represented cultural expressions. (Wasn’t that fancy! OK I got it off the placard that was before the rooms. Haha)
