New terms appear to have taken effect today, so yes if we are reading it right then each sailor will now get each benefit so two coffee per sailor per day and one laundry each over the trip.

It looks like it's pretty much the same DBE's we've been getting for the past 2 years, if I'm reading it right...

More or less, but you do have to have a specific amount of sailings now or Status Match. The coffee benefit changed from $10/day to 2 coffees per day. I was always able to squeeze 3 Macchiatos for $9/day. 🙂

No, actually they don't fully get the loyalty points for future cruises. On Princess specifically you will gain only one point or no points towards your loyalty status if you take a casino comped cruise. This is from guests who have sailed within the past two months and did not gain any points or only got one point  for sailing in a Suite when it should have been double points.

I can only speak about my experience where I received credit for both the number of cruise and days for the comped cruise. It was a junior suite and although it was booked via a fully comped certificate from a land based casino it counted as usual and pushed me from Gold to Ruby. Contrast that with VV where my two cruises, both fully comped, won't count for anything from their current and future loyalty benefits. They are unique and alone from that perspective.

Okay. Explain this to me like I'm a three-year-old. I have taken ONE cruise with Virgin Voyages. On that cruise, I had DBE from status match. When I take my second cruise, will I be in Tier One- Sailing Club- because this is my second cruise?

Or...

Will I be in Tier Two- Blue Extras- because I have status match?

It’s now stated as per person not cabin, so in theory it’s now two coffee per person, $100 bar tab per person and one bag of laundry each too.

Has anyone actually had the DBE show up under addons for both guests? I've always just had it show up under me as primary guest despite both occupants having it.

Also, has anyone had it show up for their 2025 sailings booked prior to the extension of the program?

Yes even before these changes it was showing on both of us last year and we did actually get the $100 bar tab each last September.

As above, before the changes, the $100 bar tab was showing up under both of us, but the DBE box only showed up on one.  This was for 2024 sailings. We got very conflicting info on previous cruises....we were told we had premium wifi for  a max of 3 devices, another sailor services person said 2 devices per person,  and a third said unlimited devices (not that we'd need or use more than 2 each). This was when we both qualified for DBE but it only showed up on one, and it was made clear that the coffee was $10 per day per. cabin.

My TA is one of the top 10 for both 2022 and 2023.  I've been advised that the benefits will now be per person...meaning up to 2 beverages per day each at Grounds Club and one bag of laundry each.  No word as to whether that means we have to use the appropriate bracelet to avoid charges.  Guess I'll find out soon. Yes, we are both on one credit card bill for the cruise and I know how that works.

I'm curious about this as well.

I read it as if you had the deep blue benefits in 2023 you will keep getting them until the end of 2025.

If you didn’t get the benefits in 2023 then you need to earn them and will start at the blue tier.

Okay. I like this.

When has DBE been showing up in your add ons? In my chat with VV yesterday the representative said "your DBE will be added closer to sailing" but in the past I've had it show immediately upon booking.

DBE is on mine now, and my next sailing is well over a year away.

Sorry, if this is covered, but I am struggling to get my head round how, if at all, this affects us.

We have a cruise booked for late august. (Our first VV cruise)

We have status matched in, and they have added extra bar credit.

My questions are

  • What happens for our August cruise? Do we keep the credit / perks we have, or do we get the new flavour ?
    • Would the perks then become per person rather than per room?
  • What happens should we make a new booking? Would we get DBE? or something else?

I realise, of course, I am not asking VV, but it would be nice to have an idea of what we should expect.

TIA

Will

I got answers by submitting my proof of status match again- like I was submitting it for the first time. Within a week, I got an email from VV telling me I had DBE through 2025. Now I have written documentation if there are any questions.

I firmly believe you can't have too much paperwork.
