Last minute casino offers

Recommended Posts

Hi all.  I keep seeing these “Last minute casino offers” pop up. They are offering an inside for $50 pp plus taxes and port fees, and giving a $100 Ob credit. But boy, they go in a matter of minutes. You have to be quick!!

A question. Many of these offers are insides with an upper and lower birth. Not our preferred way to travel. Has anyone gotten one of these offers and been given something better?

Yes, I just got, a day or two ago, a casino offer for a 14 night Greenland cruise on Pride, I think, for $299 inside, $399 Oceanview and $499 Balcony.  The beverage package would cost more than the accomodations, meals, entertainment, and amenities. Crazy.

Dang! I'm on one of these cruises on a casino offer and I thought I had gotten a good deal. Nowhere near that good lol.

I got the same Greenland cruise on Pride, I'm assuming because it is supposed to be from Baltimore, and a lot of people probably cancelled or are hesitant to book and they have a of rooms to unload.  I think this one is probably an outlier, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

I got this offer too, rooms went pretty quick though.  I usually dont get any casino offers, these days, since I am not a high roller, and ships are sailing at capacity.  So I can only assume I got this offer as I have sailed out of Baltimore before and I Iive in Virginia.  So I assume they mined the data base to target the offers.  I am curious as to where everyone else, who got this offer, lives.

Interesting idea, I'm actually in Virginia Beach, so about 15 minutes from Norfolk port.

A lot of folks get the last minute offers, yes they do go quickly. I don't think location has much to do with it. I get last minute offers for Alaska cruises, Long Beach cruises, even Australian cruises sometimes - and I'm in NC, nowhere near any of those places.

We live in Central New York and husband and I each got an offer email for that Greenland cruise.  No casino free play, but the offer was for a free balcony.  We booked it!  Cost of just the taxes and fees, and of course gratuities.  Can't stay one and eat out a couple of times a week for that.  When I called to book I would pick a balcony from the ones they said were available and before we'd go to book it, it was gone.  We got a cove balcony, and I'm ok with that!!

In case anyone is curious. I had been playing with booking one of these rooms for days. A few different sailings. It kept popping up and going away online. So I called the Casino line, and they were able to book me. No problem. Even though it was not available online at that moment. It was an upper and lower guarantee, though. But the agent was nice to put in the notes that we really prefer a regular inside cabin if possible. The next morning, we had a cabin assignment, and it was a Regular inside cabin on deck nine. Miracles do happen! Lol

We have done 3 of those last minute $50.00 interior cabins.  The first one was for an upper/lower guarantee but once assigned it was regular interior room.

They do go fast, but keep checking, they always come back more than once. We have been lucky to always end up with an interior guarantee, but would take the upper/lower if thats all we could get.

I’ve been getting that Play n Chill offer for months, every day by email, today I got it as a post card.  Problem is recently it is only for four or five day cruises from LA or Miami.   We have four booked this year through that offer code out of our home port of Galveston and a TA from New Orleans.

lately though Galvestons traffic has really picked up and they are just not there.  😩
