Moriah Posted April 29 #2 Share Posted April 29 It will open about half an hour to an hour after sail-away from Vancouver, and it will be open all day on sea days. On port days, it will open, again, about half an hour after sail-away. This is the same as any itinerary actually. I've never noticed a difference when on an Alaska cruise.
CruiserBruce Posted April 29 #3 Share Posted April 29 When the casino opens on sea days varies a little by ship, but it is never open "all day". It may not open until 10am, or noon, or something like that. But HAL have never run a 24 hour casino that I have ever seen.

They leave the slot machines open 24 hours if the following day is a sea day.

Not from what I saw on the Zaandam earlier this month. I commonly went through the casino about 5:00 am to check out ESPN on the Mix bar and the map of the ship's location. Other than some lights on, no signs of life in the casino any morning, sea day, or not.

Not exactly one of HAL's busier casino ships.
Rare Haljo1935 Posted April 30 #7 Share Posted April 30 This is not AK, but Here's a random Daily from a sea day in Jan on K'dam - casin open 9am - late. I'll see if I have one from AK.
Laminator Posted April 30 #8 Share Posted April 30 As an FYI for those who may hit a jackpot after the tables and cashier cage are closed they have a form you fill out by the cashier cage. You fill the form out and drop it in the box. When the casino opens up in the morning they will load the jackpot onto your cabin card.

There are no Casino staff in the casino overnight. However, the slots are still turned on and opened everyone to play. If there’s no life in the casino at 5 AM it is simply because there are no players, not because the casino is closed. Table games are not open 24 but the slots are when the following day is a sea day.
torybruno Posted April 30 Author #10 Share Posted April 30 Thanks all… I was just concerned being in Alaska, it may only be open very limited times. I won’t make it much past 10pm anyway, and only till my 50$ is gone!
