Princess Refundable Credit at end of cruise

Recommended Posts

Hello, I forgot to mention , at the end of our Coral Princess trip, we had $167.00 in refundable credit.

The final statement showed that amount referred to Corporate Finance.

In exactly 2 calender weeks from debark, the funds were in our account via direct transfer from HSBC.

Cheers, Buzz.

  1. We have never had any credit left over at the end of a cruise before , always a bill.
  2. Princess Prizes worked too ! We won a backstage tour before a production show, met the cast and were escorted around by the cruise director and the entertainment manager.Given 3 large printed photos of the event next day. Many curious looks when we returned back into the theatre. Also won $340 non refundable credit. We thought it was in name only,"Princess Prizes" as we 99% of the time saw " better luck next time " on our door screen. Cheers, Buzz.

Good stuff, the first person I have heard wining .

I won a medallion holder last year. I thought it most ironic - at the time, premier package included Princess Prizes and a medallion holder.

While we were in the Majestic concierge lounge last year, one of the other passengers was talking about a free cruise as if it was probably just a casino offer via their mother. Turned out to be a win on Princess prizes, a free cruise anywhere, up to 7 nights in a balcony.

It is operated as a sweepstake by the casino, so the house will always win, but nice to know there are winners out there.

Good work.

If we ever have any refundable credit left over, we cash it out the before debarkation.

Left over refundable credit is a good excuse to go shopping on the last night. 😊

You did well to get your credit refunded so quickly.  We had some refundable on board credit a couple of voyages ago, at the end of the cruise it was just under $50 each. We were told by Guest Services that it would be refunded to our credit cards.

That never happened and after a lot of to'ing and fro'ing they eventually rounded it up to $50 each plus $150 each for the inconvenience, applied as OBC to our next booking.

The new OBC amounts weren't refundable and I ended up buying a geeky sparkly Princess cap to mop up the last of it.

However, from memory, the small print on our folio said amounts under $50 could be paid out on board as cash, which we hadn't noticed at the time, with over $50 to be credited your credit card.

For some it might be but there is rarely anything we want. Besides that's what left over non refundable credit is for.

Keith bought duty free - prices weren't wonderful but it was better than letting the credit expire. My granddaughter bought a ring with the majority of my left over credit, I must check if she still wears it 🤔

I'd probably buy whiskey if I had enough.  Maybe not the cheapest I could get but as with @Jean C I'd be reticent to let it go into some lines consolidated revenue.

I wonder if using it to boost gratuities is an option.

I’d be more inclined to make a donation to the crew than to consolidated revenue.

5K in refundable OBC, are you kidding me??  I don't know how many people could spend that much in 10 days and not need a liver transplant afterwards.

I can't imagine us spending the non refundable OBC let alone making a dent in the refundable but it is a carry over from a pre covid move-over cruise so we will find a way 🤷‍♂️

Some years ago I had a lot of refundable credit from a move over offer.  They gave us a new cruise with an upgrade and the same benefits and the price of the old cruise back as refundable credit.  About a month after I got home I received a cheque for the refundable (it was pre this bank account stuff).  It was Princess.

Just do what you can and pocket the rest.
