To all of you who live "South of the border", a happy 4th of July! Enjoy the day, and if it happens to be while you are away on a cruise, so much the better. We'll sit on our back deck and look across to the South tonight, and may see some of your fireworks light up the horizon.

I hope everyone's Fourth is safe. Our area is so very dry right now that I'm hoping we don't have houses go up in flames due to fireworks.

Two years ago we were heading to NewFoundland on our way back from a rt transatlantic. Fourth of July BBQ onboard the Rotterdam with lots of patriotic music, that was a neat experience. All pax, ignoring their own nationalities, joined us for a wonderful celebration.

It's hot and humid here in San Diego but preparations are well under way for the festivities.
