Summary of winning bids on Priceline

January 12, 2007, one night, one room. Downtown Miami -

4* Downtown $105, $115, $125 - all denied.

3* Downtown $80, $90 - all denied.

I had started bidding 6/9/06.

I then bid 4* $135, it was denied but countered with a minimum of $22 higher. I tried $12 higher (as I thought I had read people bid 1/2 the amount and it was accepted) and it was not put through with a red note from Priceline saying to bid at least $22 higher than my $135 bid. So I bid $157 and it was accepted!

Jan. 12, 2007

4* Downtown Miami (Hyatt Regency Miami)

$157 +taxes

One night pre-cruise

4* Westin Bayshore - Vancouver, BC

Been bidding for a while on this. This time priceline offered a counter of $22 when I reached $100. Declined offer and bid $110 and was accepted.

One more thing taken care of:)

Just got Westin Bayshore for September 6th, for $90. First attempt.

This was my first ever time using Priceline and now I wonder if I could have got it for less.

I am very excited and very pleased.

2 nights, March 07, 2 rooms

Downtown Tampa

Residence Inn Marriott

$60.00

2 1/2 *

bid last week

Wasn't really expecting to get it just kind of checking it out and SURPRISE!

Even has a full size refridge, free beer and wine reception on the Thursday night, and shuttle to port. Can't beat that.

Got to love priceline.

If you check the Hotwire price, the Hyatt for your date is $174, so it's unlikely you'll get under $100 for Miami DT on Priceline. You can't just go by what others are winning. Your weekend must be some kind of event or a holiday perhaps. In contrast, the date we're going Hotwire has it for $93, and some have won bids during that timeframe for $60-100. If you would like more help start a separate thread and I'm sure you'll get some replies! :`)

We got the Hyatt Miami Downtown for October 14, 2006 for $115. Recently, however, people have been getting the Intercontinental for $85. Timing is everything. but the Hyatt price is much better than we could have gotten if we booked through the Hyatt website.:)
