My fiance and I will be takeing the May 20th cruise for our honeymoon. It will also be our first cruise. Anybody else on here takeing that one?:)

You should go below to the roll call threads and pull up Carnival, Then pull up conquest, then you search for your date and you can post with others who are on your Conquest sailing. Its nice to chat ahead of time with other folks and then meet them face to face.

I've read that people on some ships decorate their doors (easier to find your cabin?). Is that done on the Conquest?

If people who like to decorate their doors decide to sail on the Conquest then yes, it is done. If people who don't bother decorating their doors book the Conquest then no, it isn't done.

Singledad, Thanks so much for sharing your video! We will be going on Conquest in August as well, as you can see in my signature, so it was great to see some photos and stuff from around the same time last year.

I have a question, I noticed that some in your party got their hair braided.....looks like it was in Cozumel? Anyway, can you give me some idea as to how much that cost?

Wow! I can hardly wait to go now!

Thanks again,

Diana

DD had her hair done at Paradise Beach/ Cozumel. $15 plus tip (August 06)

This may be a silly question but does anyone know if there is a photo maker, like the Kodak ones you make your own pictures from on the Conquest? There was one on the Elation and we loved printing out pics from that day right from the ship!

Single Dad,

What excrusions did you take while on the conquest?

Great video and pictures! I bought a waterproof camera that also shoots video underwater, so I am very excited to use it!

Jamaica- Sunset Beach All inclusive. Great place for family - no pushers, great waterpark, pool, beaches-one for snorkling(not great-damage in a hurricane), one for water sport, and one for top optional (far and out of the way so no problem with kids). Foods was OK-did not try the restaurant (no swimsuit allow) . Drinks were great-not water down. A must for family with kids in Jamaica.

Grand Cayman- Buccaneer Catamaran Stingray sandbar, Barrier reef, and Coral Garden. Stingray sandbar is a must experience for Grand Cayman. No problem for kids any age. These are very very docile and "human" friendly.

Cozumel-Paradise Beach. A great beach with great services.

Have a great time on your cruise.

We did and it was so easy to find your cabin. It also helped all the neighbors that they complimented the decoration.

We will be going on the Conquest in August of this year. I was just wondering, did the heat bother you a lot? Or is it tolerable, if you get in the water often enough?

We had great weather on our cruise considering it was in hurricane season. It was hot but never intolerable. We were always at or near water so it was just great.

Just have to remind yourself and others to drink lot of water.

Nice job! I hope Natalie had a great birthday. What is the door made of? I was thinking of using something magnetic if it is metal, or perhaps some window clings.

The door is metal but magnet is not recommend b/c it is easily remove. Scotch tape or clear packaging tape are best.

Are you suggesting someone would STEAL my door decorations? Well, given the postings I've read suggesting that people take towels from lounge chairs, I guess I need to consider that possibility.;)

There was no pen left on the last three days of the cruise but the caps were still there:rolleyes: .

I read another thread warning about hair braiding, to make sure you get the price fixed ahead of time. Someone got a price per braid and the braider did ten thousand braids and it wound up being several hundred dollars when they just wanted some quick braids for about $40. they thought. They said the person doing the braiding just pulled a few hairs into each braid on their child to run up the price.

Get a price for the whole job, not per braid if you have it done.

Just a thought, but I have my girls hair braided before we leave for our cruise vacations! It saves the hassle of going on the islands and getting approach a million times, the price changing and "no change mon" when they are done. Plus, DH and I dont have to stand in the hot sun waiting for 2 girls to get their hair braided! I have one of their freinds mom come over the night before and presto, hair braided and ready to cruise!!! ;) This will be great this year since we have 2 days at sea, and those braids are alot easier to care for....just wash and go!!:D Good luck, Mindy

I'm not sure how much they change, but here is a link to some more recent Capers from December 2006: http://travel.webshots.com/album/556654088xSygQh

Thanks for the link!!! Those will come in handy for April.....I hope! I was wondering, does anyone have the Camp Carnival Capers? Just I know my girls would love to see what is going on in the "camp"!! Thanks, Mindy

We make different signs for each day, and just keep adding them daily to the door, so by the time the cruise is over, our door is totally decorated. I solved the problem of the signs maybe wanting to walk away by putting our room number on each sign - we also use our screen names on the signs....

We are cruising in 2008 (March 16th), and DD and I are already working on our signs.

Hi everyone! I am new here but have been reading your posts - lots of great info here! We booked a last minute cruise for April 1st on the Conquest - can't wait! My hubby and I are traveling with our two boys (5 and 11) and are on the main deck, cabin 2224. It has two upper berths - anyone have any experience with this type of room? Are we going to be cramped? If so, anyone have any experience with upgrading while on the ship? We got a great discount since we are military...

I wanted a balcony suite, but hubby liked the price for the inner room.

Thanks for your advice/info... :D

My DH and DS and DD and myself share an inside cabin on all of our cruises. We had no problem with lack of space. Specially when we are not in our rooms that much. The berths are only down when bedtime comes around, if you have the two twin beds pushed together it will also make more room. Only prob with that is someone has to climb over the other person to get out of bed. Hope you have a good time, please look back at past post we are all meeting up together. CAN"T WAIT!!!!:D :D
