Hello, going to be sailing the Conquest on my Honeymoon in October. Booking right now, but question, I have only stayed in an inside stateroom on Conquest:

is there a huge difference between the balcony rooms, vs what carnival calls thier "mini suite".

diff is about 1,500 bucks, so just curious.

:(

I have reserved 2 cabins for 7/8. One OV(6a), One inside(1a).

A 1A is not necessarily a "inside" room. Some even have bunk beds. They are the beige ones on the deck plans.

The conquest even has 2462 and 2465 which are 220 sf with two beds and two large full sized windows on the main level. There are also some port holes 1As on the first two decks, Riveria and Main you can pick, unless you are allowing them to pick your cabin, then you might also get an inside cabin with bunk beds.

I got 2462 on the Conquest, cant wait to check it out.

VIP in Galveston is a little different. They only have 2 persons working it and they take care of other things too. You definitely get on sooner and there are couches in the VIP room. We had a line in front of us but only about 8 people. It is worth it! They escorted us into the ship but beware there are inclines to walk up so if that is a problem just ask for a wheel chair! They will assign someone to walk you on and then take the wheel chair back down. Get there early and you will get on immediately!

Capers -- thanks KCFan but your link didn't work for me. I suppose that link was specific to you and teh cruise you booked.

I don't like the way Carnival's website lists the excursions. i want the actual print out that you get on the ship. On the website, you have to click on each excursion to get the details on it, and it doesn't give you the prices. So i will still hold out for the printed copy of hte excursions.

galveston check-in -- I have gotten there as early as 10:30 in the morning and gotten on the ship with very little wait. If you get there at 11:30-12, be prepared for a mob scene!

So I'm curious about this-we have 2 choices for our transfer from Houston to Galveston. We can take the 8:30am shuttle and get to the port at 10:30am or we can take the 10:30 and get there at 12:30. We are staying in a hotel the night before so we would need to get from the hotel to the airport. What do you recommend? I'd rather not have to get our kids up and wait all morning if the wait will be the same for the 12:30 arrival. ANY advice or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

The person that told you that you need to input your confirmation is correct.

Once you log in and put in your confirmation # on the actual cruise you are going on, the prices magically appear. (I thought as you did the first time too....until I logged in with my confirmation #). Either that or you are in the wrong place, not in the place with your cruise details.

The ship doesnt leave until what?? 5 pm or something. Depends on how hungry you are. We get there around lunch time so we can eat lunch. Sometimes at 10:30 you cant get onto the ship and sometimes you can. If your kids are small you might be better off waiting in case you cant get on really early. The last time on the Grand we had to wait to get to the port and board they said because the Ecstasy was late (I still dont understand how the Ecstasy held us up). Im sure the Conquest could run late too. I usually aim for a little before Noon. Either way you have plenty of time. I just would get there before the advertised time on the Carnival web site when lots will show up. 10:30 you probably cant board quite that early.

IF YOU CLICK, I THINK IT'S BUY NOW, OR WHATEVER IT SAYS TO PURCHASE, YOU WILL SEE THE PRICES. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE THE PRICES OF EACH EXCURSION.

Hello, We're cruising several months from now on Conquest and just trying to get everything arranged ahead of time. I'e read some other threads about the hotels and it seems most mention that the hotels let you park there for the week if you stay with them on your cruise eve., do they have any catches?

They let you leave your vehicle there as long as you stay at their hotel before the cruise but what about after? Do they require a night post-cruise too?

Are there any hotels that do NOT let you park if you stay with them the night befoe you cruise?

Thanks!!

Found this on the Jamicia thread

We were on the 2/25 sailing of Freedom of the Seas and stopped in Montego Bay. We went to Doctor's Cove Beach and had a great time. We took the "shuttle" which was $4pp which is the same as the cab fare. It is $5 pp admission and we got two chairs and an umbrella for another $15. Rupert set them up for us and he took care of us, I gave him a $5 tip and he kept an eye on us thereafter. His friend Horace took us out in a boat past the rope line to snorkel and it was very good. That was $15 pp and I tipped him an extra $5. The snorkeling inside the rope line was also very good. The reef looks healthy and there was good coral viewing and fish. In short, the off beach snorkeling was excellent. We had lunch at the Groovy Grouper which was good - very good service. We decided on Doctor's Cove because we had never been to Montego Bay before and at least going there, we saw the downtown area on the way. The comments of Toronto-Jamaica proved very accurate about Doctor's Cove.

I am pretty certain that they have showers and lockers but we did not use them.

12 DAYS!!!!!!!

We have booked 1433 & 1435. Any experience with these cabins? what about this deck - Riviera?

We are traveling with 3 kids so I have to have the 2 rooms right beside each other. I booked the OV with a military discount so will any free upgrade offers apply to us? (not sure if they let you use a military discount with another offer).

Thanks

I heard they raised prices the night before the last "biggest ever sale". So I looked last night and sure enough all the cheaper September 2007 dates that were $449 inside rates went up to $479.

Right now the prices on the Conquest, due to lack of competition are going up not down. Im still hoping for a last minute senior discount, on either Sept or Oct, but my guess is they would not be raising the rates again last night unless they were getting good bookings.

Ill keep my fingers crossed, but your date would still have to have the military discount offered (its not offered all the time on all dates) AND be lower than what you paid....its possible. My guess is until you get within the last 45 days we wouldnt know if rates are going to drop. When is your cruise date?

We are cruising on 7/8/07. This will be DH & my 2nd cruise (1st RCI 12/05), kids 1st. Hubby is in Afghanistan right now, due home in June. They better not extend his tour - he will be so disappointed if we have to reschedule.
