we also started another thread.. 'live from the conquest"

but to summarize, we brought on a case of water and 2 12 packs of soda, no problem... in the embarkation line, we watched someone carry on (without a duffel) 2 24-packs of soda... no problem
No problem. It is each way.
I e-mailed them yesterday to check on pricing and was told it would be $30 per person, each way. So that would be $300 round-trip for my family of five, compared to the $350 we are paying now. Thought I would pass this on, since it's a little different than the prices mentioned earlier.

I read somewhere about pagers for parents. Are these only for the younger kids in Camp Carnival or also for parents of older kids? We have a 9, 12, and 14 year-old. We've cruised on Disney twice in the past, and the pager was nice for the kids to let us know when they were leaving the kids area, etc. Is that an option, or should we just plan on bringing along our 2-way radios?

Checking for room number GTY From R&S (Ron and Sue)
The easiest way is to log into the Carnival website and click on modify booking (only for booking with PVP/Carnival only).
If the modify option doesn't work, here is another method. (It's a bit detailed, but it will work)

1. On the Carnival homepage click 'My Reservation' located on the top of the page.
2. Use the 'Member log-in' to the right of the page to log-in to your account. This will take you to your reservation.
3. On the 'My Reservation' page first write down your booking number then click on the 'FunPass - Complete Online' located to the right of the Itinerary (This will take you to the FunPass check in area) Note: Sometimes you will get an error message and you will need to go back to the My Reservation page and click the 'FunPass-Complete Online' a second time. Then it will work.
4. On the 'FunPass Quick Check in' page you may be required to provide your booking number. You should have it from the My Reservation page.
5. You should now see a list of guests traveling and be able to complete a FunPass for each person.
6. Under the list of guests you will see 4 options

Carnival Sea Miles MasterCard-----Join Presidential Wine Club
7. Click on 'Order Gifts and Services'
8. Select 'Details' of any gift. At the bottom of the page will be your booking number and stateroom number.
Your room number will show up as GUAR until it has been assigned.

we were in cabin 6450...last balcony on the side of the ship. it was a little rockier than the center, but i truly believe the front of the ship was worse imo. we were happy with our location, and i would book this cabin again, even though there were a few things about it, the good outweighed the bad. we had no problems with noise but there were some kids who thought it was funny to stick gum on our door everynight. i never caught them!! lucky for them! i got sick one night, but we had some rough water. i was in the casino losing my hiney...maybe that is what made me sick:eek: who knows.
I'm going to be on the Lido deck (9) of the Conquest. Is this going to be a problem with noise? I thought it would be convenient to everything (pool and food anyway! LOL) Please advise.
Thanks

We just got off the Conquest, room 9262 on Lido. Great location, but more movement with rough water. It was absolutely great as far as location. But I got seasick for the first time.

I don't think I personally will book on Lido again. But, others we in our group liked the location.

You will love the Conquest, we had a great time.

Bit of advice, be sure to fly in day prior, traffic was horrible going to Galveston day prior. On our way back to the airport Sunday, there was a road block about 1-2 pm - I felt sorry for any one trying to get to the port. I-45 has a lot of traffic and accidents.

We are somewhat(Very Antisocial) and want to know if it is possible to get the same food they are serving in the dining room delivered to our cabin.

We are going to go on a May Conquest Sailing.

Not sure if this is done

sorry to hear you are somewhat anti social. we actually switched our table for a two-seater to move with other people for conversation.

my room service experience was not a good one. first, the menu is very very limited. and dissapointing if you ask me. most people had a good experience with room service. i wated an hour 45 minutes for my order, only for it to arrive incorrect. i called, and almost 40 minutes later, they replaced it.

certainly try the dining room. you may have a table to yourself. like i said, we did, but did not like it. i wanted to be able to talk with others. if not, i know i saw people with plates from the buffet, walking back to their cabins with it.

good luck. all you can do is ask, and all they can do is say no right?

What can you tell me about the canopy tour in mobay? I'm thinking about doing that with my two sons (12 & 14) - were there a lot of kids on this? Did you do the one through carnival? How close did they look at the weight restrictions? Let's just say I'm a little "close" to the max...:o

Still have to find something for my wife and 9 year-old daughter to do in mobay, assuming me and the boys do this excursion.

I e-mailed them yesterday to check on pricing and was told it would be $30 per person, each way. So that would be $300 round-trip for my family of five, compared to the $350 we are paying now. Thought I would pass this on, since it's a little different than the prices mentioned earlier.

The prices I gave you were taken from the flyer faxed to me: that is why I recommended that you contact the company directly to get info/quote based on your individual needs. I am glad that you were given a price less than the advertised price on the flyer.;)

they are very safety conscious here....but i did not see one scale around. i assume the expect people to "police" themselves as far as weight goes. dh was pretty close to it too....but we had no problems. the canopy tour was the highlight of dh's trip! we both loved it!!! i went scuba diving in grand cayman, and the dive was the highlight of my trip. the canopy was very very close 2nd.

we booked through carnival. i was told that the only way to take this canopy tour was to book directly through the cruise line. book early too!

we started out by being met by a guide(a sign too) in the cruise terminal in mobay. we waited for our time, then we all boarded an a/c'd bus to take about 20-30 minute ride into the hills/mountains. this was a beautiful ride!!! the jungle was incredible! the road trip there was an adventure in itself. :D we got to the chukka park, and had a potty break...only place so go then! got suited up in our harnesses with our gear-gloves, helmet etc. and off on a hike we went. there is quite a bit of walking and climbing "stairs". it rained on us so it was muddy too. we didn't mind. there were a total of 7 zip lines. it was beautiful. in my particular group, we had no kids. i'm not sure on an age requirement, so you might double check. they will take photos 6 for $20 usd. they are much better than the ones you can take. i suggest you purchase them...so take some $'s with you. they are great. they put them on a disc for you. safety safety safety! these people are great! they are fun and i never once felt unsafe. you have two pulleys and two lines.

this is a great excursion!! i would do it again, and have no problems taking my 12 yr old on it!!! DO IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

Heather,

You will have to email him a copy of it. The photo in your signature is only around 110 pixels and will not enlarge enough for him to use on his desktop. You will need to send him the original photo so that it will have enough pixels to be clear.

I had to really search and finally did this screen print from Webshots. What I wanted was a picture from the back of the Conquest to see our cabin from the outside. Anyone have a pic from the back corner without the other stuff from webshots?

If I was getting a OV, I would sure consider that back row facing the aft on main deck. Didnt see them until later. The same exact view as the aft balconies higher up. My cabin is around from the flat part. Someone said the windows were extra large, but I saw here they were the same size as the other windows. Still going to be a very nice cabin...can't wait.

they are very safety conscious here....but i did not see one scale around. i assume the expect people to "police" themselves as far as weight goes. dh was pretty close to it too....but we had no problems. the canopy tour was the highlight of dh's trip! we both loved it!!! i went scuba diving in grand cayman, and the dive was the highlight of my trip. the canopy was very very close 2nd.

we booked through carnival. i was told that the only way to take this canopy tour was to book directly through the cruise line. book early too!

we started out by being met by a guide(a sign too) in the cruise terminal in mobay. we waited for our time, then we all boarded an a/c'd bus to take about 20-30 minute ride into the hills/mountains. this was a beautiful ride!!! the jungle was incredible! the road trip there was an adventure in itself.

Thank you so much for sharing all that information with me. Now, if I can only find something for my wife and daughter to do while I'm on this excursion with the boys - we'll be all set. Probably book it online this weekend. Any ideas on what they could do in mobay while we are doing the canopy tour? I don't suppose they can come along just to watch?

How did the pictures work? Is there a camera on your helmet, like on the amazing race? Or just cameras placed throughout the course?

Thanks again! I'm pumped about the idea of doing this!:D
