Any thoughts about on valor room 7369 and 7448 on Empress deck?

empress deck is the most highly sought after deck

7448 is one of those cabins aft that are more narrower then the othe cabins on the deck--missing is a sofa-- you still have a chair though

Your balcony will be a lot bigger then your other 7369 cabin. It will be warmer back there===gone will be the ocean breezes.

2212 is a 1A cabin- You are on the good side of the ship at least so you wont hear the anchor dropping.

You didnt say when you were sailing. Being low is a good thing. The lower you are the less you feel=- BUT if you hit rough waters you will feel the motion a great deal.

Did you pick the cabin or did you book as a guarantee?

I booked a guarantee, and as a Platinum have usually got an upgrade. But this is for all 3 legs of the South America in January, which is pretty much sold out. I have 2212 for the first 2 legs, still tba for the third.

Sounds like a good location to me. The higher the more convenient to me. Deck 7 though has the jogging track, so skip that deck as you did. I think you got a great location.

Thanks firefly.I changed our room to Deck 8 Cabin#8036.I went by a layout that someone provided on this site of the deck 8 cabins that did not have an obstructed view. And it was $80 less!:D

My first experience with a "sideways" interior. I liked the room layout, but there was this horrible "whump whump whump whump" sound in the cabin. It was worse over the bed at the wall with the "window" than it was at the other bed, so I made DD sleep in the noisy bed.

I didn't even bother to complain as the ship was full.

Next time, I'll stick to a "regular" interior on Riviera or Main.

The TV was great and the shower was excellent. I'd forgotten how little shelf space there is on Fantasy-class ships in the bathroom, though. Ended up hanging my toiletries bag on one of the toilet paper hangers.

This is the case why an over the door shoe holder woulda worked out perfectly

I booked a cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas for June 2009. I just realized that I booked a junior suite on deck 8 (Cabin 8066), and the pool deck is deck 9!!! Ugh. That's not good, right?

The only junior suites available are on deck 8, so if the noise is going to be bad, we would have to go into a regular balcony.

We've only had inside rooms, but this is our 25th wedding anniversary, so we thought we would splurge on this cruise. I was excited for a junior suite, but I don't want to be awakened at 5AM (or 2AM) by chairs being dragged across the deck.

Anyone have any input?

I'd be more concern with --what is that white area next to your cabin?

According to the deck plans JS are also on deck 7 also.

You are smack right in the middle of being under the pool deck. You could hearing chairs scraping all during the day---not just at a set time.

Depending on how light a sleeper you are it could bother you. it bothers some but not all.

Thanks for your response.

The only junior suites left for that particular date are on deck 8.

Do you think someone at Royal Caribbean would be able to tell me what that white area is next to the cabin? I thought it would be a good thing to not have another balcony next to ours. Maybe not?

I was on the Pride in August under the Lido deck and I would never do it again. I was told that there was carpet over our heads and it would be OK. NOT TRUE!! The heavy plate and silverware carts start being across the floor about 5:30 am. Chairs are being dragged around (vacuuming maybe?). Even with ear plugs in I couldn't sleep any longer. I learned my lesson, never book a room under the Lido deck, whether it's under the buffet or the pool area.

I read many posts about specific areas of the Lido deck being carpeted.

Does anyone know if 8202 is under one of those areas or not?

Thanks.

the pool deck is not carpeted. The buffet area is.Your cabin is closer to the mens/ladies rooms then it is the pool deck itself. Your cabin does stand a chance of hearing noise from chairs scraping.

Well you can call Royal Caribbean a few times with that same question and get various replies.

This is for a June 2009 sailing?? who told you that was all that was left? I see JS on the aft of the ship-- I would take one of those in a heartbeat.

You will have a balcony on either side of you- the white are could be an electrical closet-- could be an ice machine. Maybe a plumbing closet.

Serene you seem to know quite a lot about cabin locations on different ships, I posted a message yesterday about having a cabin under the casino (5038 ncl Jade) , could you please help me and tell me about the noise factor! I'm leaving in a few weeks so don't even know if there would still be cabins available to change. Anyway I thank you in advance for your input, and if anybody else knows something about this cabin, tell me about it! Thank you.

Yes, I believe the date is June 13 (may be the 14th). No one told me...I was checking the Royal Caribbean site and that was all that was listed...Off to check it again!!

The only NCL cruise we took was only a tour of the crown.

But being on another ship under the casino-- you should not hear anything from that area. its carpeted. If you do hear rings and dings from machines which is VERY rare-- go to the pursers desk and the machines will be turned down.- I will say more then likely you wont even know its there

Thank you Serene, I appreciate you answering my question. Thankyou for the advice to get the machines turned down. I guess I won't be worried so much now.
