Don't book this (these) rooms

Does anyone know how to get one of these low quality rooms at a discount? I'm sure the cruise lines know that these rooms are less wanted.

Carnival has a cat 1A on most of their ships. they feature bunk beds instead of two beds on the floor. But once you look around you can get a 1A that has the both beds--- like on Carnival Liberty 7334 is a 1 a

-- I have no idea what you are asking about low quality cabins.

I do not think they exist.

we are booked in cabin 2124 on the destiny just below the dining room. Is this a bad choice?

are you sure about that cabin number>? on the Destiny?

2124 is an oceanview cabin located all the way forward on deck 2.

It is a connecting cabin.

you are under the show lounge. NOT the dining room. If you are early to bed type of people you will get noise from that lounge--like the beat of the bass.

But more then likly you will be at those shows so no real concerns.

it will be a long walk to the food/pools every day

now when are you sailing-- the 23th is sold out so you really are not in a position to move.

if the 28rd. 2303 is available. its under the dining room which is carpeted and conveniet to stairs and elevators to get you to the food/pool

We will be on HAL Statendam in June, cabins 793 and 795. They appear to be in the location we like, back 3rd of the ship. But, I don't know what the big empty space is in front of us on the ship's deck plan. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.

We just returned from a Conquest cruise & had a great time - except for the cabin - being a balcony on deck 8 - right under the pool area. We had the chair scraping problems in the day AND at night when they cleaned.

We got the night scraping stopped by complaining (gently) so they did not move the chairs when they cleaned.

On most ships, it is best to avoid decks below the pool area because of chairs being moved. I should have known better.....:(

I booked a guarantee and ended up with stateroom 4054, which they classify as their VA category (near the top of the standard verandas) when, in reality, it should be near the bottom.

To elaborate:

This cabin is on the same deck as the VD cabins, which comprise most of the balcony cabins on that deck, and has a handicapped VD on one side and a lifeboat on the other. The lifeboat side is exposed, and the balcony is very long. Normally this would be a plus; however, there's only about 3 feet of overhang shelter, if that much. The strong sun on the exposed balcony not only makes the balcony virtually unusable during the day, but the exposure is so great that it also bakes the room itself and makes it uncomfortably warm -- even with the drapes closed and the air conditioning turned up all the way.

Holland America's Vista and Signature class ships feature these types of cabins on both sides of deck 4, so make sure to study the deck plans before you book and also be aware of the possibility of being assigned this type of cabin from a guarantee booking.

This may have been asked and answered somewhere along the last 118 pages but I couldnt got through all of them. We are booked in this room in May and just were looking for some insight on it, we are not really concerned about the best of views. But is it noisy, I know the main show room is below us. And does anyone know how much foot traffic the walkway there actually get?

Not many people know that deck is opened to the public- the doors are located on the side so it is not seen from the hall ways.

You can see into the room- maybe at night. (thats when you keep your curtains closed)

The show lounge is below. It will be noisy when the shows are happening. But you will be at those shows anyways. If you are in the cabin you will feel the bass.

Tis a very long walk to the food/pools

Thank you, we are young dont mind the walking, and yea we will be at the shows, plus we know how to sleep through noise, we have a 3 year old and my dh is military so he definitely is used to it, since he will be just getting back from deployment. On my last cruise we only went out on the front deck once and that was our first day.

Trying to read all these pages but someone might be able to answer faster then me reading 119 pages hehe. Has anyone stayed in room E124 on carnival ecstasy? Im concerned about the elevator and noise from it.

In our last few cruises we have stayed at the elevator because its quick and easy. Elevators are in banks by themselves- you will not hear the elevators

My husband and I are looking into booking a cabin on the Elation.

We were wondering about 242 on the Empress deck Aft ? Any thoughts!!

Hi, Just found your post & was wondering if you ended up in this cabin. We have it reserved for July going out of NOLA. Hoping that it will be quiet. The agent that booked it tried to book us in one right by the elevators & told us 242 might be smaller than others. We will have 2 kids in the room with us but I knew I did NOT want to be by the elevators. :)

Thanks!

Tam

Be warned if you book Voyager Suite 1011 on Regent Seven Seas. Store Room/Ladies Toilets above the Bedroom/Lounge Area, being used from early am to late pm. Also a tapping noise which could not be located nor fixed, in the bedroom of the suite.

We were given an insulting compensation, which came via a e-mail from Regent, to be used for future cruises. We had 3 weeks on this ship and had to wear plugs to get to sleep (no other cabins available). We managed to get two nights, uninteruppted sleep because the General Manager put up a notice in the store room saying be quite when moving equipment! I want to take this future - any suggestions? Any comments would be very grateful.

That particular poster has not been back since 2008

being by the elevator is NOT a bad thing.(we have booked various times at that location and doing it again next week.

(cant wait)

E242 only holds 2 people. You want a cabin that has 4 beds- do not accept a rollaway- they take up precious floor space.

You do NOT want to be under the galley.

Being under a dining room is fine-- that area is carpeted.

But being on this aft you may experience shuddering or vibration when coming into and leaving a port.

I would look into seeing if E188 or E195 is available (or that area DOWN)

Better yet go down one area and be between cabin space and away from public areas

where you are now-- its going to be a LONG walk to the stairs/elevators

As you can tell from my signature....WE LOVE CARNIVAL.

However, I am also very honest with my reviews and think that folks should be aware that until Carnival corrects the problem....SOME interior Spa cabins on Deck 11 have a noise problem.

We were in 11223, but I know that several cabins on either side of us had this issue as well.

When the ship is under pull power (20+ knots) and there are ANY seas at all (not just big waves)....there is a POUNDING noise that lasted for 18 hours on Friday Dec 4th until the next day. Unfortunately, it kept us up all night.

It sounded like a GONG and on multiple occasions SHOOK the entire cabin.

The good news is that as long as we were not under max power (and as long as the seas were smooth)....the cabin was fine.

So it was only one day out of our 9 day cruise (which we had a BLAST ON by the way) ....but it was a constant gonging that should be corrected.

(10 times in 3 minutes during one of the sessions that I timed)

We got back from sailing the western Caribbean on Carnival Dream about 10 days ago and were in adjoining cabins 6222 and 6224, which would be 5 decks below where you were and on the port side. We also experienced the same thing you described late the last night of the cruise as we sailed up the Florida coast to Port Canaveral at about 22 knots and we found the banging to be rather annoying. One thing we really did enjoy about that cabin was having front row seats on our balcony to watch the latecomers running (or staggering) back to the ship prior to sailing. In the future I believe I would shoot for something farther aft though to get away from the the banging through the waves...

I have read about noise from the band at the Casino bar below and just wondering if anyone know if we will likely be affected or will we be far enough forward. When I booked the agent said she thought we were over a shop.

Thanks!

I don't plan on actually using my cabin except as a place to store my luggage. I wanted something cheap.
