Booked in this cabin in November ..... first cruise. Any comments on this cabin please....... Thanks.

I'm a bit nervous about seasickness too.

cabin is midship. that is where you want to be for motion problems. But if you do not get sick in cars or amusement rides then you are pretty safe from sea sickness.

Book these rooms at your peril.

We went up to the next deck to investigate what the terrible noise was above our cabin and the room attendant was one we had two years previously which was a nice surprise as he remembered us!

There were several doors which had 'housekeeping' on them but 9593 has a maintenance room for the pool works above it and at regular intervals during the night you will hear a service door banging right above your head, items being dragged across the floor, banging/tapping and then when the maintenance work has been done the crew bang the service door on the way out. This happened several times a night:mad:

We had interrupted sleep for 11 nights on the TA, supposedly the ship was full and no other rooms available. We tried drinking more alcohol to sleep but that didn't work  On the 11th night I was so desperate for sleep I went to GS in my pjs and begged for another room . We were given 1289 for sleeping only which was okay when the sea was calm but it got a bit rough and you could hear the pool water sloshing , when they emptied the pool it sounded like sitting beside a jet engine.

We don't book deck 10 but failed to realise that the pool equipment has an impact on deck 9. We learned the hard way!!!

steer clear of both these rooms!!!!

Adventure of the seas

Cabins 9587 through 97 (inside cabins)

and the other side

will have noise issues based on the report of above post.

1289 does sit directly under the whrilpools (but are these turned off about 8pm nightly?)

We're booked in Rooms 8211 and 8217 on Carnival Splendor. Any thoughts on these rooms? It looks like just rooms above and below. It's also close enough to elevators but not too close.

Just curious about being in a forward cabin versus mid-ship. What are the benefits of the two?

It looks like balconies are tiny. Is there enough room for 2 people to comfortably sit out there and enjoy the ocean?

there will be two chairs and a table. Yes you both can sit out there. At night- close your curtains and turn off your light. The view and the quiet make you feel like you are on the only ones there.

Being that far forward if you hit rough water you will feel that motion more so if you were towards midship.

Its a long walk to the food/pools.

Hi Serene56, I have been reading this thread and you have a load of information. I am currently on the Elation U159 4 day cruise but will be switching to the Elation 5 day cruise soon. These are the rooms I have to choose from and I am not sure about it. Please help! Which one is the best choice? There is also a few Mid ship (aft) cabins available too. M239, M243, and M247. Thanks!

m239 etc are not midship- these are in the aft.

We had M239 on Sensation for our first cruise Sister ship to the elation.

We got some vibration/shuddering when entering or leaving a port

Oops:D So you think being on the Empress (fwd) would be better than the aft cabins?

I like the aft- it puts me in a better situation to get to the food/pools with the only traveling to do is go forward to see shows in the lounge.

Remember this ship has dead ends. The only way to get to the aft dining room is by the aft elevators.

you can not reach the mid ship dining room by the aft elevators either.

This ship also has many cabins under a galley- do not take a cabin in that location

We are in cabin 6232 on the Legend. Is this a good cabin?

I am booked in 8273 Carnival Pride. It is all the way in the back of the ship and the Serenity Deck is right above us, do you think this will be a bad room???:)

How about a thread telling cruisers where not to stay. I was just on the Carnival Triumph, room 8410, below the back of the lido - pool deck. I didn't think it would be too bad, as usually the rear pool bar closes early at night. My room was near the 24 hour pizzeria. DON'T STAY IN THIS AREA. Due to the wooden deck, you will hear chairs and tables being moved between 11 pm and 5 am while you are attempting to sleep. It's constant. It seemed at 4:45 AM the staff was cleaning this area. One night they had a private party at the rear pool area, a dj started at 11 pm and it went until 3 am. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM you get the picture. On the other hand, being just one deck below the pools and buffet was nice. Just take a sleeping pill like I did every night.

Where are other places to avoid?

I am going to be on the Carnival Pride cabin #8273, right under the adults only Serenity Deck, anyone know what the noise wil be like???

Just adding my two pence worth.

Crown Princess D736 is at the back of the ship and is a lovely Junior Suite but unfortunately it is so noisy from the wake that you cannot really enjoy the balcony - Specially for breakfast. It is also very wobbly back there!

I've just finished a week staying in 9564 on FOS. Again great JS but is opposite the stateroom attendants service door. So it is continually in use and slammed quite often. As well as having a constant stream of service trolleys left outside.

no, its a true suite. its a very good room. No perks come with that room except priority boarding.

You should have no issues with noise from above

the aft balconies are generally well sought after but they are not for everyone. At least you tried it and found they are not for you.

We love Princess aft balconies but only on Caribbean deck. (c753 is what we book)

FOr your FoS- always try to avoid cabins that are across the way from the gray area unless its like an electrical closet or fire door storage.

Be mindful of whats above you and below you. THere are many cabins that are in noise zones. But there are also cabins that are in perfect locations

Does anyone know if there are noise issues being in cabins above the casino? Am currently booked on Carnival Magic in cabins 6341, 6343, 6349........

you will not get noise from the casino BUT you will get noise from a band that sets up across from that casino bar. The band starts playing around 9pm and goes til the wee hours of the morning.

This is one area to avoid.

If possible move up one deck and stay in the same area.

Good info Thank you :) .We're going to book the aft on Carnival Breeze or Magic next time. As these are staggered we hope it's not going to be as noisy (we should be able to cope with wobbliness;) )

Any suggestions gratefully received.

be mindful of whats below. this ships aft has cabins directly over a stage area on deck 6.

yes, the balconies are staggered up-- you give up some what of a privacy thing here. the dividers all sit at angles so you can see your neighbors all the way at the end.

You can only see people who are standing at the rail.

aft balconies tend to stay warm- there is no ocean breezes back here.

The halls are quiet. they are long walk to the stairs/elevators.

they also cost more then a side balcony.

the balconies are a lot bigger then a side balcony
