I would've been a little upset about the lack of the balcony/view after having booked such a high category. It looks like that's the staircase in the "view." Was there much activity on it?

I hope you still had fun on your cruise! I agree....live and learn. :(

Yes gkrnjlr, still had fun, pretty hard not to:o I am a smoker, so I need to have a balcony, imo this room should get a "reduced" rate, but didn't have the energy to complain to Carnival, guarantees are not for me. There was NO activity on the staircase, I think they must just use it to service the lifeboats.

Avoid any balcony cabins on the Fantasy class ships such as the fascination. The layout gives you zero privacy and anyone can see onto your balcony from different decks. Save your money get a oceanview and go out onto the decks itself for a better view or to see the sun come up or down.

We were thinking of booking inside Verandah deck. It looks like easy access to deck for smokers. If you have rough seas is this not the deck to be on? I got seasick on first cruise but plan on Ginger pills the next one.:p

getting a good cabin is not rocket science

What's that supposed to mean? I was referring to the suite guarantee room I got stuck in, and no I am not a rocket scientist, but an accountant, and learned the hard way not to book guar. on certain ships.

Yes, we did the Hawaii to Alaska cruise, 19 days total. It was an awesome cruise, after we got in a room we could get some sleep. We did have to move again, when we reached Vancouver, but the crew moved us that time. You still have to pack up your suitcases, but they move them to your next room. We were escorted off the ship, and then you could go visit Vancouver if you wanted or come right back on the ship. However you had to decide whether to leave the ship at 8:00am or 12:00pm, there were no other choices. When we were ready to get back on, it went very smoothly, we didn't have to wait in any lines except customs, but that was very brief. All in all it was a great cruise and we would do it again, just stay away from room 8191, and those rooms close by.

Still hoping to get some info on room 9278, Triumph, Lido deck. Thanks

Hello,

Just this past January we were on the Triumph in cabin #9273 which is the same general area of the cabin you are interested in. This was a very nice & quiet area. There was no noise from elevators, crew closets or unwanted noise from the deck parties. We would book this spot again. Some of our family members were on the other side of

the ship exactly where you are looking at and they also thought it was a perfect location. Just a note, laundry is located across from 9270 (but stil quiet).

1. Can't find location of ice machines on that website. How do I do that?

2. 1268 is across from a noisy ice machine. Does that mean it is tyhe location of the ice on every deck? We are in that area on the Freedom soon. Does anybody know id deck 6 upper deck across from the back of the elevators is a noisy area due to the stewards room or ice machine ?

I was on the Triumph in January and the ice area was down the hall and open to the public. They had the ice machine in there and a coke machine ($1.75 per can). It's just like a hotel's ice machine. There's a window in the door, so you can look in/out. It's about the size of a small closet. :)

This is a Cat 12 suite, 3rd forward indented from the jutting out part of the ship.

I am curious how much privacy there will be on the balcony cause the balconies jutting out look like they can see into the indented suite balconies or at least the first 2 anyway but perhaps not.

Anyone know if this is true or have pictures of the Spirits deck 6 amidship showing the areas above the lifeboats looking forward?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi there,

We'll be on the Valor in September. I was wondering if anyone has stayed in cain 6160? It's forward 8A balcony cabin. We usually stay in an aft but thought we would give all the forward a try. Was it a mistake? This will be our first Carnival cruise. We've sailed RCCL, Disney and HAL before.

Any info would be appreciated.

Peggy

Look up the Pride!! It is her sister ship and I believe all the info is on there about the Pride. So it should be the same for the Spirit!

Ooooh, you are brilliant, thanks!! Weird thing is - it says no ice maker on Verandah deck, but that's apparently what the problem is for 7197!
