Our cabin is fabulous, 8166. We're sitting out on the balcony now watching the other ships depart.

Donna, sounds like you are enjoying that cabin as much as we did. Thanks for the field reports. Looking forward to reading more.

Hello everyone!! Try to answer a few posts:

My mom is also a gambler--her favorites are the nickel slots. She has been faithfully playing Swamp Land & Texas Tea. The others near are Cleopatra, 3 Green Men, Munsters, etc. The casino has a healthy following on this cruise. They have regular slot tournaments and blackjack tournaments.

We really are loving our room. With 3 adults and 2 children, it's a perfect size. I was really worried about having 1 bathroom, but so far it has not been a problem. We stagger our showers throughout the day.

I did the Persian Gardens yesterday. Loved it!!!! So relaxing. I found out that you have to ask for the "scents" to be added before you go in. My husband had to come and get me out! I didn't want to leave.

Must say that the Thalossotherapy Pool has it's own hogs! Can't get near the rack to save my life!! The hot tubs are virtually empty, so we've been in there pretty much as well.

Arno, thanks for answering the music and dance questions. We have not made one show yet!! We spend the early evening before dinner either in the Persian Gardens, hot tubs, or Martini Bar. My children have been to a couple of shows with the Fun Factory, and they said the shows were very enjoyable!

Still hunting for Texed's butler. Haven't seen the "hot" captain yet. There is a cocktail party of Captain Club members today. Maybe he will be there?

Aruba was yesterday. Can you say HOT! We live in South Louisiana, y'all, and we know hot, but Aruba was hotter that hot!!:D As we had all sunburned on the ship the day before, we did not even venture to the beach, but all who did report that is was the lovliest beach they had ever seen.

Panama Canal tomorrow. We are having a get together on our balcony for the crossing. Love that balcony!

Signing off for now! Hope you are enjoying the posts!

Thank you for answering my questions, I really appreciate it! And yes, Darcy, I remember you from our chats before the Grand. Unfortunately I didn't get to the gathering because I was in the "Bar Wars" Competition. Then, I didn't know where or how to get with anyone. Ah, well. It was a lovely cruise, but I can't wait to get back to Celebrity!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

We're back! Disembarkation was late for some unknown reason. We missed our flight, but not to worry, we got another non-stop flight to Houston just an hour later.

The cruise was wonderful! Hate to get off the ship everytime, but this time was especially hard because of all the great new friends we've made. The staff was fantastic, too. I know they probably forget you as soon as you walk off the ship, but they really made us feel special. Sarah and Raymond especially got attached to a couple of them. I guess they treat the kids a little more special. One waiter, Mete' from Turkey, even gave Sarah a present for her birthday. He was our "breakfast waiter". We sat in his section every morning. Yes, Texed, we did have the waffles. Sarah had them every morning. I only had them twice because I wanted my clothes to fit for the entire cruise!

I asked just about every one I could find about the dry dock, but no one really seemed to know what was going to happen except for the pod thingy. Some of the crew didn't even know if they would be required to stay on board for the dry dock as it is only expected to take a week.

I did get to meet the Captain. He sat near us for lunch one day late into the cruise. Apparently he eats in the Oceanview each day. He likes to be out in the public and really enjoys speaking with the passengers. And yes, he is very handsome. He must like children because he kept Raymond and Sarah entertained for quite a while the day we met him.

Our favorite part of the cruise besides meeting our new friends was definately the Panama Canal. Amazing. Everyone should do a transit. My favorite port, though, was Cabo. It was cool, and we did everything we planned to do for a very low price.

Galaxy is still my favorite ship, but I would definately said Infinity again. The Persian Gardens were nice, but I definatley prefer the Thalassotherapy pool on Galaxy. The kids have a new favorite ship, though, and I'm sure the fact that the Fun Factory is enormous on Infinity is the main reason. They had a blast and made some new friends as well.

Questions? Ask away, and I'll try to answer them. If I can't, maybe one of my Cruise Critic friends can. We really had a great bunch of CCer's on this cruise. I know I've made life long friends!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Donna, welcome home. It's tough being back isn't it?:( It sounds like you all had a great trip though the Panama Canal (right the way through this time) and Raymond and Sarah sound like they were kept well entertained. We know that they can be well entertained even when there are only a few children on board though, don't we?

Say hi to all the family for me.

I'm sorry your "voyage" is over but I'm glad you had such a wonderful cruise!!

We will be on Infinity 4/22 for the first time so we are reading your information with great interest. We too were fortunate enough to snag a aft cabin (cc) and are interested in your opinion of your cabin, location, etc.

Thank you in advance for your advice/opinions, we really do appreciate it!

ALOHA!

Hello Still hunting for Texed's butler.

Donna

Thanks for looking. I don't know if he is still on board, but he was the BEST butler we have ever had. :)

BTW, how are the waffles?

Texed, Smashing Nicki is still on board, currently serving as Chief Assistant Housekeeper.

The waffles were as expected, fantastic. I only allowed myself to have them 2 of the 14 days they were available, because I needed clothes to wear on board! However, my daughter had them everyday. They are her absolute favorite!
