C 2 C Posted April 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2007 As I checked my daily news items I received a warning concerning a new computer virus. Protect yourself and don't open emails if you do not have the right software. I don't know how I would survive a day without my computer and a Cruise Critic "fix" Here is the story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/pcworld/20070412/tc_pcworld/130686;_ylt=AgEMuNqRIyFjgkoACJpxV.EjtBAF

dmk Posted April 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Arno, Thanks for the heads up. I received an email today from a friend I'm not in touch with very often. The subject line was suspicious. My Norton's antivirus caught it . I didn't open it up. Now after reading the Yahoo News article, I think that could have been one of those emails. Rare DrKoob Posted April 14, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I don't know how I would survive a day without my computer and a Cruise Critic "fix" Arno, If someone else on the thread had already said it, I wouldn't but no one has, so I will. If you would really not be able to survive without your computer and a Cruise Critic fix, consider buying a Mac as your next computer. There has never been a destructive virus for Macs. In fact, I have used Macs since 1984 and never had a virus attack any of them. :D

That doesn't mean we'll never have viruses, but for now we're living the good life -- computer wise anyway.
Rare DrKoob Posted April 14, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 14, 2007 As to whether we will ever have viruses I would think that if no one has written one in 25 years, no one will.

My PC friends are constantly having problems with spyware and viruses.
Spot Posted April 14, 2007 #15 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I too love my Mac and I compute without the fear of my Windows counterparts. The switch some years ago was the best technology decision I've ever made!
OkieFive Posted April 14, 2007 #16 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I love my Mac. Have even converted my husband (who wrote programs on punch cards in school and his work is totally computer related writing programs, controling pipelines with computers, etc). When he retires in a couple of years and gives up his work computer, he is getting a Mac. I had to get one as no one in my family ever had time to help me and my old pc always had problems. When I got the Mac, my 3 boys and husband just about disowned me (hey, maybe that wouldn't have been a bad idea) and said they would never be able to help me (not that they did anyway). Anyway, my husband loaded up my Mac and was amazed at the ease of everything. I love my Mac!!!
