mjpjc5 Posted April 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2007 We will be sailing on the Crown Princess the 21st of May. Does anyone know if they serve Lobster Tails in the buffet on the formal nites. I know they are served in the Dining Room the 2nd Formal Evening Thanks
stoneharborlady Posted April 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Cannot vouch for the Crown, but the lobster tails served in Cafe Caribe on the CB were definitely NOT the cold water tails served in the formal dining rooms, but rather were warm water tails. In my estimation, not comparable at all. Karen
chrysalis Posted April 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2007 I don't think that they are served on the Buffet.....but they do serve the Beef Wellington, which is also on the Formal night menu with the lobster
dbdave Posted April 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Don't forget that you can always order more than one tail in the dining room too!!
A Sixth? Posted April 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2007 We will be sailing on the Crown Princess the 21st of May. Does anyone know if they serve Lobster Tails in the buffet on the formal nites. I know they are served in the Dining Room the 2nd Formal Evening Thanks We were aboard a B2B this past January on the crown and it was Northern lobster and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed it hot on lobster noght but don't forget that on the first night, go to the buffet and get a cold lobster happy hour snack plate to go with your sundowner. Blackrobe Posted May 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2007 They did NOT serve lobster on formal night in the Horizon Court on the Grand. They also did not serve Beef Wellington. What they did serve was pretty bad!
dforeigner Posted May 1, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Don't forget that you can always order more than one tail in the dining room too!! They normally serve two tails. If you want three, then that is up to you...
AAAAmerican Posted May 1, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Lobster from our State of Maine (ME) is still the very best! Have you ever had a bad Maine lobster..? Why doesn't the cruise line(s) tell us where they are from? Like in shrimp ..be careful for the germicides/bactericides used. Certain areas in the World use products not even allowed in the US. Know what your eating is vital for your own health.

It is my understanding that they serve Caribbean lobster.
Idratherbeatsea Posted May 1, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 1, 2007 We are just off the Star and we actually asked and were told that they were maine lobsters. We shared a table at dinner with 2 couples from the north east of the usa and they said that they were definately maine lobsters. They were perfectly cooked and oh so sweet. We all were very impressed. The four that i ate were incredible.

I know they are served in the Dining Room the 2nd Formal Evening Thanks Just got off the Crown the 28th of April and ate most of our meals in the buffet for dinner (2x main dining room and 1x Crown Grill otherwise) and never had lobster tails hot, but they did have Maine lobster claws hot as well as steamed clams and mussels that same night. Didn't see beef wellington but I think they had prime rib they would carve for you, can't remember cause all I had was the claws and clams and mussels - hard to get good stuff here in Las Vegas so I eat all I can when I can! :)
