Okay I know this is almost sacrelige (;)), but what if we don't want to arrive on the ship really early? If you don't arrive really early, what is a good time to arrive later to avoid long lines, and still be on the ship in time for MDR dining? (If there is one.)

And while I'm at it, we've never sailed late in the eveing before (8:30 pm out of San Juan). On that first day, they do regular early and late MDR seating, right? Are there going to be shows that first night? Anything else to know that we might not expect when sailing later on the first day?

muster drill is between 530 and 6 pm. when we did our b2b and got off the ship we were told all aboard was 5 pm and to be back onboard by then. We were and then before we knew it muster drill AGAIN. lol

Question for anyone who has rented a car on Aruba - what company did you use and where did you have to return the car? A few of the places I have contacted close at 3pm and since the ship doesn't leave until evening that seems too early to be rushing back to return the car  On our first AOS cruise we went to Baby Beach and would like to drive out there again....

Hi all,

Cruising on AOS late March. We have a 1 pm flight home after the cruise. To reduce my stress, I am one for getting to the airport on the early side. I would rather sit in the airport for two hours, than be tapping my feet and getting worked up going the security wondering if we will make the flight. With a 1:00 flight, which would be your preference, sign up for RCCL transfer, or just disembark and take a taxi?

Thanks, Scott

I can't remember the company that we used the last time we rented a jeep in Aruba. But as you are walking from the pier there are several companies that have stands. We did not book ahead of time as we just decided as we were sailing there that we would get a jeep and drive. That was back when Adventure was in port until midnight and I know that we didn't return the jeep until we went back to the ship for dinner.

I found this interesting looking website. Apparently you can fill in some info and they will froward your request for information to the rental companies that you check off as well as some info on contacting the companies directly.......

I NEVER recommend the RCI transfers......picture herding cattle......take a taxi! It's easy and reasonable.

I am going on a B2B in April. Can anyone recommend a zipline tour at any of the islands? I have never ziplined before. I am looking to do it in St. Lucia for right now. (I posted in the St. Lucia boards) Just curious if any of you regulars have some advice on this. Which is the best island to do it? Tour companies? Through the ship? Thank you so much.

Thanks for the link - very helpful :)

I loved when the AOS stayed in Aruba until midnight - it's also the evening when they have the pool party.....I wonder why they changed the departure time? Probably costing too much to stay in port that long, and losing too much money by not being able to open the casino!!!!

just back from AOS last night, I have so much to say I'd like to write a review but have to catch up at work first. We had some bad experiences we have never seen on an RCL ship, but overall it was one awesome cruise!!!:D

Welcome home. I'll be looking for your review. Things you've never seen on RCI?? Surely you had plenty of great experiences, don't forget to include all of those too!!!!

Hello,

I will be sailing on the AOS on March 3rd. So excited! Can you find out about the premium package is offered on the AOS, if Martini's are included like a Cosmo or Appletini and if both adults have to purchase the package.

Thanks in advance and enjoy your cruise!

$45 for the rail drinks $55 for the unlimited drink package but be aware this is per day per person and both people in a stateroom must purchase it! Working on my review, maybe tomorrow

Jon,

Boone was lots of fun! Such an artsy town! It was a bizarre trip... I was atop snowy Grandfather Mtn & a week later on a sunny deck of a Shrimpin boat in Wilmington! Had a great (yet exhausting) time. Been back since Monday & haven't sat down till now. Have to keep busy as each day at work is more annoying than the last...

I CAN'T WAIT TILL VACATION!!!!!

I took my 1st zip line tour in St. Lucia and it was wonderful! I'm an

Overweight grandma and had no problems. There is some walking, but I was not rushed and the jungle was beautiful. I would do it again in a heart beat

Rcprncss,

Ship tour in St.. Lucia was #SL65A - Aerial Tram & Canopy. It was a little pricey, but great tour. I can't tell you the name, but it was on the SOUTH side of the island. My husband previously tried the zip line on the other side of the island....so he has tried both. He said the one I did on the south side was longer and better zipping, but more walking than the other company. I'm sure this is clear as mud!

Morning Robyn and all lovers of AOS. I have a question for those who have recently been on her. I would never miss a muster drill. I am very claustrophobic and I can't stand the drills where you are packed in like sardines. I have actually been on some cruises where the drill is in the theater or other venues. Can you tell me what to expect please?

Muster is outside on Deck 4. Depending on where your cabin is located will depend whether starboard or port side. Suggest you arrive just before the horns sound so you can stand on the outside. You will have a specific spot on that deck to stand and you can check out where that is by having a wander down there after lunch :)

Well, not to add to your stress, but the last time I was on Adventure we were outside on deck 4, on the sunny side of the ship, swealtering in the heat, and packed together. At least now you don't have the added issue of wearing a life vest to add to the over heating issue.

Sorry, I wish I had better news for you but those are the facts.:(
