Maybe an End to Chair Hogs

You can usually tell when someone IS occuping the chair, sandels, beach bag, clothes around the area. We have sat in our chairs around the pool, swam, read, talked for a few hours and have chairs next to us with books or towels on them and NEVER see a person once. We have had people ask if anyone is sitting there and I have said no, and bam chair occupied, towel gone. Too bad for that person as they did finally come as we were leaving and thought WE took their chairs. It was not pretty. It was ignorant.

Love the idea of the cubbies, another $ maker for Princess!

Happy Sailing All.........65 more days!!

As for it being in writing in the Princess Patters, it has been there for the last several years about no saving of seats or chairs. Like it has done any good?

The only way to enforce this rule is to have a staff member watching, especially in the early AM, for those coming out and placing things on chairs and not returning for several hours. IMHO!

I would submit that the only way to fully rectify this problem would be to return to the days of yesteryear (such as on the transatlantic liners) when a chaise with a number was assigned to you for the duration of the voyage by a deck attendant. :)

Today's attendants don't have the kahunas to make a decision or take any corrective action whatsoever. While on Star in Oct/Nov, it was pointed out to a pair of deck attendants on Lido Deck (outside) that two ladies had placed their stuff on two chaises and had not shown up in 50 minutes (I timed them). They noted that first they would have to check with their supervisor and eventually at the 65 minute mark, they were starting to clear the items away when the two women ran down from their two other chaises on the Sun Deck and proceeded to give hell to the poor guys.

If management hasn't got the guts to backup their employees in enforcing the policies for use of chaises etc, then the blame must fully be placed on management itself for failing to support their own policies, vis a vis, they are addressing the issue by posting in the Patter but paying it mere lip service. We need a chair/chaise police force onboard.

Ciao for now!!!
